some people were making considerations at the last Fall Brawl. i am not sure if anything is taking hold yet for those that were considering. if not Heath and I can make a call to the campground again that we stayed at this year.

    Sound deadening Questions.

awesome! i would like to do this myself. after my trip out to MI and back to PA about 600 miles or 11 hours with the kids my ears were ringing. between my engine noise and my turbo i need to quiet it down a bit. yes, i cant believe it, but i am complaining about turbo noise LOL when i down...

    DTA360 transmission adapter plates

short answer, no, you cannot use a 6BT adapter. Carson Staffer is the only one i know of that makes adapters for the DT but they are $$$ if you go with a stick shift. to get around that i just put a medium duty transmission in my 94 F350 and a divorced transfer case. that is not without...

So what did you do with your truck today?

yeah i should have ordered from somewhere else but when i need it for the weekend, and put it off, sometimes you have to pay the piper.......

So what did you do with your truck today?

i just changed the thermostat on my truck, i thought the IDI thermostats were a little pricey at around 40. the one for my DT set me back just shy of 100! i tested it against my old one though and it opens more than twice as wide. i was wondering why my temp gauge was refusing to come down very...

IDI into a Clark 55 loader

cool project, i dont have a ton of direct information unfortunately myself. how does the current engine bolt to the transmission? i assume this will be the big item. is it an SAE 2 pattern? if so i know some IDI's were available with those or could be made so by changing the adapter on the back...

What did you break on your truck today

my thermostat.....spiked the temp and shot coolant out the cap before i knew what was going on cruising some back roads. fortunately after i caught on i was lucky enough to be able to run the heat full blast in 95 deg temps with full humidity to keep the engine temp in check and under 200. i...

    93 Ford fuel/line/tank issue

yes it sounds like you are sucking air or have a restriction, does your fuel filter light come on? i would do a close visual inspection of the fuel lines first. i had a stubborn air leak i eventually tracked down to where the fuel line passes through the sending unit on the tank. the fuel line...

    Antarctic IDI Build

i have played the "ride the blown out tire" game a couple of times now, once while towing a nice load of firewood on the trailer doing about 70 down the interstate. one of the few times my son heard me really swear. i felt bad after i got it stopped, i think my reaction more than the actual...

    Intercooler

sorry cant find any pictures off hand. i probably have some but i pulled my IDI for a DT360 swap. i did do some research on pipe size here https://www.oilburners.net/threads/what-size-intercooler-pipe-to-use.64017/ this is another cool thread to read through for ideas and such. sort of lengthy...

    3 or 4 inch exhaust??

yep, although a 3" exhaust should be just fine it was easy for me to get the 4" kit and be done with it.

    Intercooler

on my IDI i found an exhaust adapter to go from 2.5 to the inlet size of the stock intake hat. i did some metal massaging and smoothing out to make sure it would fit and not tear the seal and it worked well. i can say 3" looks cooler but 2.5" is much easier to route and more than sufficient...

any source you know of for parts, last i looked i could not find much. i ended up making one good cylinder out of 2 i had.

    Water pump issue?

these truck do not have a plastic impeller that can break apart over time. if the pump is spinning it is pumping unless something catastrophic happened. if it is not overheating like mentioned i would not be to worried about it.

    Jimmy Cone Cruise Night 8/17

i am sure it was an earth shatteringly witty and funny dad joke. i am so glad some people appreciate them! i am still working on my kids appreciating them, especially in public. it was nice to catch up with everyone again, even if it was for a short time.

    Project Little Foot

it is a little hard to see but i looks like the ring gear has rust where it interfaces with the pinion. you can put some marker on it and check the pattern. if the pattern looks good and is not hitting the rust area you should be fine. if it is hitting the pitted area and it is not to deep i...

    Intercooler

nice, double check but you will probably need 3.25" boots on the Ford side of the intercooler. at least I did. i would also agree with Wes, pressure check it before you put it in. it is much easier to take care of out of the truck before you do all the core support cutting if you have a problem.
