i was out in San Diego for several weeks a little bit ago. most cars were run of the mill but I kept ogling some of the clean older stuff just being driven around! saw a built up Brat that was super clean that looked like a cool overlander build.
i cant blame you for grabbing up some of all...
they work well in industrial settings. the advantage of a quadring is you actually get 2 sealing surfaces instead of 1 like a regular o-ring. cost usually pushes us back to a regular o-ring. really a regular o-ring is usually a very reliable solution to begin with.
yep, single mass, my SM set up was not very load either. if you have a balanced injector system that can help a lot in quieting them down with even pulses on the engine.
plastic sleeves can run dry but if it is metal on metal with the throw out bearing you need some grease.
nice, something else that can be handy is using a drill battery to move the windows. they can be especially handy walking through a salvage yard. you don't have to worry about finding a car battery when you can have portable power in your pocket.
I did a DT360 swap, it is not that easy in multiple ways. it is definitely more unique. i refused to go down the Cummins swap crowd path.
some of the major hurdles with a DT swap.
-you will need to cut out your cross member and fabricate a new one to fit the engine
-unless you are going to...
i don't have any real personnel experience running poly but have heard of others with squeaking and even trouble tracking down the road since the poly spring bushings had an angle machined into them.
i think you will be fine either way but have preferred rubber bushings in my stuff over the years.
interesting, i don't quite know what it all means but thanks for sharing. to my untrained eye the engine looks fairly consistent overall besides the spikes you have an explanation for.
Went to fire up my truck from its slumber and no lights no nothing........i never unhitched from my last fall camping trip and low and behold i forgot to unplug the camper. it probably drained my batteries in a couple of days and kept them dead for about 4+ months now.
i tried charging them...
that or heck i have been reading up on some ecoboost swaps! it looks like you can buy engines and stand alone computers right from Ford but the 4BT starts looking like a good deal compared to those $$$ numbers LOL
i am sorry to see that happen to such a cool truck. i understand though that cost is a factor that cannot be ignored in what to do. i really do like the 4BT's but the price seems to really push them into the "hard to justify" realm.
do you think this was a contributor to the hold start issue...
i agree, it is hard to vote sometimes. because we are so spread out voting for one person will usually cause someone else to get excluded because of distance. this is always a struggle and why the rally's were focused in the western PA and surrounding areas somewhat. it is an attempt to be more...
I understand the need to organize our threads and help keep down the clutter in the IDI section. I also believe that a decent amount of people pass through here and have gotten used to this.
I also believe that it is still getting less traffic then previous years and that has had an effect. a...
that is great, something that is really lacking in my garage is decent lighting. LED lighting and a nice heater should make things much nicer to work on throughout the year!
pretty much the same for me, no instructions that i know of, so i just hit the like whenever i feel like the post contributes to the community or makes me laugh. it does not cost me anything so i pass them around LOL
