    This should be a sticky! I have been burnt so many times ethanol gas knocking out my carbs if I let them sit at all I refuse to run it anymore! I found a local station with ethanol free and have not turned back.

    This has happened to me as well, I could feel it with the vehicle jacked up. You could see the joints popping in the knuckle also if you have someone turn the wheel back and forth on you.

    another place a slow leak can hide is the heater core, it could be seeping a little and going out the drain. I would pressure test the system. also check the hose running to the overflow tank, if that is leaking and not air tight it can cause a problem also.

    unfortunately this, some have corelated temperatures where around R is this temp and M is this temp but they vary truck to truck so it is more an individual ref and not completely reliable. If you want to know what is going on plug an aftermarket gage in and you will get your temperatures.

    Next my son wanted to start up the 48 Willy's for his 16 birthday, and after we got it running convinced me to give it a quick drive. It is running off a gas can under the hood right now so we could not go far. First time I have driven all three of my pickup trucks in one day LOL

    ouch, still much better than "the machine shop did not do the sleeve right and it slipped down into the crank" sort of deal. either way, I am glad you got it back up and going. I have spent more than a vehicle is worth to get it up to par, the worst is when I spend that and it still fails!
