Never before seen mess
i prefer to run steel lines where i can, you just seem to run into issues with rubber over time degrading. rubber lines are really easy to run but can also vibrate down and droop where you dont expect them to if they are not supported well. i have not done it but i know some guys swear by...- subway

it is on the "things to do list" lol if it was a simple drive shaft i would probably just have knocked it out by now but the front is going to need a carrier bearing, multiple slip joints and U-joint adaptation to work out. see if i can "math" right and get it working without shaking my...- subway

its a little embarrassing, but i have had to pull my truck out with the tractor several times now from my yard. my yard has a slight slope to it but with the heavy DT and medium duty transmission and no front driveshaft wet grass is like trying to drive on ice sometimes lol the darn truck is...- subway

Clutch adjustment help please!
Like mentioned, I have had to field repair a clutch line and mine bled itself out by the time I got home. About a half hour drive. The diesel engine makes for a decent shaker to get the air bubbles out lol- subway

ouch, that is unfortunate that you ran into this right now. it does not really surprise me though with a vehicle this old. makes those little coolant filters with the correct additive nice to help avoid this. if you are pushed for time i think i would still filter what you have and toss it in...- subway

glad you got it figured out and it was a simple hose, sounds like some of the other rubber is getting old and giving up to now.......at least it was close to home and you were not hauling heavy far away. i am not sure i would give up on the coolant yet, i have cleaned some up running them...- subway

glow plug drilling/extraction
i have had luck slowly drilling out broken off spark plugs by taking it slow and loading up the bits with grease. the shavings slick to the grease if you keep pulling it and refreshing it. you can even help by pulling the injector and running shop air into the injector hole to blow chips out the...- subway

that very well could have been my problem, these were just the blister pack ones at my local Ace hardware. maybe i should try a better quality, the rubber stems are easier to work with. i just have a sour taste about them now with my stem failures. a couple while pulling the camper with my...- subway

something else you might want to check that is super simple. try lifting your clutch pedal up towards you! i have run into this, sometimes with the play in the system the clutch pedal does not quite pull up far enough. if that happens the piston inside the mater cylinder does not pull back...- subway

Don't Ya Hate It When...
i really hate it when it is that cold out, hard to keep the woodstove going hard enough to heat everything up in the house. i might be tempted to just add an aftermarket in line heater to one of the hoses at this point. i prefer to wait until warmer weather when it is cold enough your hands...- subway
