6.9 Diesel starts and will only runs for a seconds, billows white smoke.
once you get it going i have run into this also with major fuel system work. it probably took me 20 or more miles of driving to get all of the air out of the system. it would run just roughly but kept smoothing out over time.- subway

Anybody parting out a 2000-04 Superduty? Need track bar bracket.

Throttle cable part number?
yep, got burned by that one, tossed the $16 autozone one and bit the bullet for a Ford cable. i was loosing significant throttle movement and it was not the same quality.- subway

i can see a good advantage of being able to place the tire near the rear bumper and with the cable long enough you could just "pull" it into the truck. even less getting under and wrestling with it in mud/rain/cold situations.- subway

Towing speed with 5th wheel?
this is what i consider to be the biggest overall limitation. next up you need to feel out the truck and see where it feels comfortable. make sure you have proper trailer tire inflation, i have seen my share of blowouts myself and with other people. trailer tires really do not seem to be made...- subway

so you will need to pull the front hub off and have the wheel off the ground. Tighten the inner nut to 50 ft-lbs, then back off 90 degrees. Tighten the outer nut to 160-205 ft-lbs. 2x4 or 4x4? either way you need to access the nut in the hub that tightens down on the wheel bearing and set it properly. so you are either pulling the locking hub or the cap in the center.- subway

sounds like a similar inspection that we have in PA. there should be no noticeable movement in the joints holding the front end together. gabbing the wheel from the top and bottom should show any ball joint movement. side to side should show steering linkage movement. of coarse a loose/worn...- subway

Centurion Axle identification question
if you google axle identification chart and identify the cover like mentioned that should help get you a positive ID. like mentioned though, it is most likely a Ford/Sterling 10.25 that you might need to check the brake shoe width for depending on axle rating.- subway

the military introduced me to these https://www.amazon.com/Shrink-Solder-Sleeve-Crimpless-Connectors/dp/B01M1032A7 you slip these on the wires and just use a heat gun to solder the wires, heat shrink and seal the ends of the connector all in one step. they are great!- subway

Pulling engine and trans together?
how bad are the body mounts? if you could zip the front to cab mounts and take off the front clip you could tilt the cab up. that should make things much easier. i have pulled engine/trans combos before but never put one in that way. if they are half as hard just getting out when you don't...- subway

the width of the stream is the distance between the camp ground, unfortunately unless you wade through the water i dont think there is a direct route to walk. it will be several minutes walking or a short drive. Heath and I are hoping it gets moved soon to! that is up to the mods to decide- subway
