turbo kit, seats, steps, hydroboost, parts, parts, parts, etc.

Shame you're in Arkansas; otherwise I'd be all over that overhead console and the blue bucket seats -Drool So, $175 for the hydroboost assembly including a brick nose manual transmission pedal assembly...is that $175 shipped or $175 plus shipping? To be honest, I'm mostly interested in the...

    Front Seats

Is there any chance it's a GM split bench as opposed to a modified original Ford bench? GM was doing a split bench setup like that in the early 90's...something like this: (not the best quality, but I had difficulty finding a picture)... If you can post pictures, I'd love to see it! ;Sweet

Fuel Level Gauge No Longer Working

Bringing this thread up from the dead... After two years, I have an update! I've been busier than a one-armed paperhanger with various other projects, so this problem went on the backburner. I replaced the FSV just to be safe, and while both the old FSV and the "new" one are working...

    looking for new headlights.

Someone's doing the same thing with OBS lights...based on the pictures in that thread, the difference is truly night-and-day. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1318512-hid-projector-retrofit-hids-the-right-way.html This conversion would make keeping the brick-nose front end worthwhile if it...

    what would you do??

Any idea how many miles are on the junkyard engine? I tend to think that lower miles = less of a chance of having badly pitted water jackets that could turn into cavitation, unless there's documentation on either engine of how religiously SCA's were used, which I'm pretty sure there aren't...

The Future of the IDI Weekend

There used to be a Member's map for the IDI crowd. It was concurrent with a list called the "IDI Help Registry". I have a link in my signature to the old site, but I think the site's been lost to mergers and whatnot...

    Insulating your "junk"...

HOLY MACKEREL!!! Yeah, that's quite a price difference    I don't know why I missed the seal when perusing previous LMC catalogs, but I didn't think that it was available anywhere new...so, you learn something new every day ;Sweet

You got the "Hood to Cowl" seal, right? Like #1 in the top-left diagram on here: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=27

what are these between my duals?

This is money VERY well spent IMHO...thanks to towcat for first telling me that these exist ;Sweet http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Dualies-18000-Stainless-Extension/dp/B002L9J0SQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1437846942&sr=8-2&keywords=dually+tire+valve+extenders

    Insulating your "junk"...

First, thank you for addressing my questions ;Sweet I'm pretty sure you can't find an OEM molded hood pad anymore...I think your best bet would be to use some of the same insulating material to cover the inside of the hood. With that having been said, I'm not sure how much good that will do...

    Fuel Tank Sending Units

Are they new, or used but in known working condition? What year range application are they meant for? I'm guessing there's one forward and one aft tank sender?

    Custom Headlights

As I said in the other thread, I'm a professional driver who spends a lot of time on the road at night...being blinded by misaligned or illegally modified headlights is one of my biggest pet peeves. So, while the laws can get obnoxious and are a bit outdated (I should note that I have absolutely...

    PS spool valve ID

No worries ;Sweet wasn't trying to show you up or anything like that...just thought you'd like to know the purpose for the adjustment screw in case you ever needed it for anything
  17. The Warden

    PS spool valve ID

FWIW, the adjustment screw on the steering gearbox doesn't do anything to change the steering ratio. It's meant to set the gear mesh...there's a procedure in the FSM on how to set the gear mesh so that it's tight enough that you don't have a bunch of slop in your steering without being so tight...

    Custom Headlights

First off, if you haven't already seen it, you might want to take a look at this thread: http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?73728-looking-for-new-headlights There are HID projector install assemblies that can be retrofitted in place of where the light bulb goes in your housing...

major engine noise, currently broken down

The intake manifold has to come off, which means the injector pump needs to get out of the way. The alternator and vacuum pump bracket may have to come off too, but I'm not 100% sure. I suspect the turbo will need to come off as well. Also, once you get to the point where you're ready to...

major engine noise, currently broken down

That was my first thought. I would be getting ready to pull the heads at minimum...but, there's a good enough chance of damage to the piston or the cylinder walls that I would recommend pulling the engine out of the truck. What you find when pulling the heads will determine whether the engine...

    Insulating your "junk"...

Forgive my confusion, but any chance I could ask you to clarify a few things? First, you said that the outside temp probe is "shoved a few feet down the driver's side center vent". I just want to make sure...this is measuring the air temperature inside the ducting between the evaporator and...

    looking for new headlights.

FWIW, the chrome bezel in the middle looks a lot like the chrome bezel that the slant-nose trucks use. It'd be worth comparing the two parts...if we could get it down to two pieces (four to make a set) that would need to be sourced, that could be a very beautiful thing! ;Sweet
