Thanks asmith,;Sweet Yes, the engine circuit is helpful to get up to temp on most E4OD's. My E4OD has a bypass valve which has that viscosity "sensor" (it's a spring actually) that returns fluid back to the transmission. I am wondering if that is enough or not to get me up to temp...- SDEconVan

Guys, thank you for the info, this helps a lot. Right now I have a BIG fin and tube, and from what I understand they will create a pressure drop which is undesirable. And with such a Big cooler there are a lot of 180 bends, which means a LOT of PRESSURE DROP- I can't afford any compromise...- SDEconVan

Thanks TrackSpeeder, that is/was a 4R100 pan, it's pretty shot. Eyeing an aftermarket pan with more surface area and more volume to dampen the thermal hysteresis effects. Hmmm, well, your situation is 200k on the trans, and plastic parts could very well melt/flow over time. The remedy makes sense. I think if you can keep trans temps under control, that the plastic part would last, but that's a logical guess. If you have chance to improve it, then do so...- SDEconVan

Okay I zoomed a little and it looks like metal smeared with something rather than a groove in the surface the Gerator slides upon (9-toothed inner portion.) That should be good.
