Finally got around to doing a coolant pressure. Hooked it up and pumped it up to 15lbs and it didn’t drop at all. Planning on changing the CDR valve next and see if that fixes the problem. Any other suggestions?
About a month ago when it started getting cold I put some anti fuel gel in the tank and ran it just a little bit. Then I didn’t run it again until this happened. Could that have anything to do with what happened? If my injectors or IP are bad could that have got in the fuel and caused this?
Went out and checked the oil today and it’s normal looking. Normal color and does not look like a milkshake anymore. I’m still going to change the oil in it. What oil do you guys recommend. The truck gets parked through the winter and doesn’t get many miles on it during the summer.
No it is not mud. I’m trying to figure out why the oil would look like that. The truck is an 86. Engine is not original to this truck. It’s a 7.3 that was NA but has the Hypermax turbo kit.
Drove my truck home today which was about 12 miles. Got home and smelt oil. Popped the hood and had oil all over the engine bay and the dip stick looked like this. Truck drove fine the whole ride home.
The gauge never worked very well at least I didn’t think it did. Could my timing be off or my injection pump be going bad? It will still pull just doesn’t seem to have the power. When it’s cooler outside the truck runs a lot better. Also I am thinking that my injection pump is the original and...
I replaced my stock compressor wheel with a wicked wheel 2. I can hear it spooling up good but the gauge isn’t showing any boost. I’m not sure if my gauge is bad or what. Also when I hooked on to the camper to pull it, it seemed to be really low on power and didn’t have the get up and go. It was...
Doesn’t seem to have the power it did when I bought the truck. I have a new compressor wheel coming for my turbo since my wheel is missing some of the blades. So I’m blaming the no boost on that.
well I figured out why my 7.3 idi with the hypermax kit wasn’t building boost. My question is do I just need to replace the compressor wheel or is something more needed to be replaced? It doesn’t have end play it just has a little side to side play. I took a picture of the compressor wheel.
im looking to where I can buy the adapter to time my 7.3 idi. Not looking to spend a to but it’s looking like I’m going to have to. Also will any advanced didgital timing light work once I get the correct adapter. I’m not looking forward to spending a ton because most likely will only end up...
