    Resurrecting a $900 1986 with 7.3idi swap. Fuel?

Pretty cool! Out of those parts that you’ve spilled out there, do you think you’ll be able to rebuild it and put it back together in the future?

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

Now that the oil cooler is off, what exactly am I doing? This resource doesn’t talk about cleaning out any pressure ports or unsticking any bobs https://www.nickpisca.com/diesel/engine/6-9-and-7-3-idi-oil-cooler-repair/

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

Got the oil cooler pulled off and new cowl seal installed. Boy, that oil cooler job is a messy job! I ordered some engine degreaser to start cleaning the road grime and oil off of the block. My valley pan collects water and will have standing water in it so I’ll need to make sure that drain...

Trying to fabricate a CDR mount for turbo swap

Are the factory turbo valve covers with the CDR mounting bracket ideal for this? Are they hard to find/come by? I found one for around $140 bucks and thought about buying that and doing a new banks pulse turbo kit.

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

I’m torn - I like a well cared for carpet but they’re harder to clean and I know I’d need to be on top of carpet cleaning because I often have muddy shoes. My thoughts are if I’m in or around the truck then I’m doing work. Work means dirty. I think the bare metal floors are a lot easier to...

    7.3idi stalling

I haven’t seen any of your other posts but if you’re considering a full Injection pump replacement, then maybe try a rebuild kit first. Here’s one for $30ish Here’s a db2 repair video. Seems pretty thorough. A pump is expensive. A couple of hours and $30 bucks is a lot less expensive if you...

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

Speaking of only seeing the hood, this is why I think it’s important to bring back hood ornaments. It’d be a big part of what you see! I think people would drive a little more careful if they didn’t want to mess up that sweet Mercury Cougar Emblem

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

How do you feel about carpeted floors or rubberized floors compared to bare metal floors that seem more common in the older pre-1980 trucks? It’s a polarizing question when it comes to the more classic trucks

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

I think repaints have their advantages and their place. I also quite like letting a truck responsibly age as it gathers dents, scuffs, marks. I know the adage “it means character” is said often, but it’s very true. Each and every one of those dents, whisky wrinkles and scuff marks tell a unique...

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

I’ve been seeing quite a bit of trucks in my area with huge lift (nothing new), pristine paint jobs, and color changers in the wheels. The AutoZone lights in the wheels Seems like the latest design evolution in the trendy pavement Princess trucks. You do you, but Couldn’t be me

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

We all agree that I need a cowl seal hence buying one, hence buying one from RockAuto ($19 shipping, ouch!) So I’m assuming that we’re all suspecting the rainwater that pools in the valley pan might be seeping past the CDR valve throat gasket? I’ve yet to take it apart and see how the...

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

Good reference point, thank you. Maybe instead of buying an Amazon kit, That $30 is better we’ll spent buying a dedicated gauge. Like this one

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

Thanks all Ordered oil cooler kit, and new cowl seal. That’s crafty - I’ll steal one from my wife’s car. She won’t miss it I’ll head towards harbor freight and get one of their $30 oil pressure test kits. Should the crankcase be flushed with diesel/oil mix to get the residual coolant out...

2nd blown oil filter gasket and coolant mixing with oil? Help with isolating the causes?

Hey guys I have two separate problems going on: 1) 2 oil filter gaskets have been blown. I’m not hulk tightening the oil filters on. I’m using the motorcraft FL-1994A Powerstroke oil filters, and I’m Oil in the gasket thoroughly before Installing. I’ll put a third replacement filter on and I’ll...

1986 F250 help identifying spazzing junction box?

No the wipers don’t work. They didn’t work when I bought the truck but this problem is new. I don’t think anything got wet and I’m rechecking the grounds now. I’m about to pull the harness and take the box out and see what that does.

1986 F250 help identifying spazzing junction box?

Hey all, I’ve got a problem here. When I turn the ignition key into start, run, or ACC, there’s a junction box hiding behind the Light and Wiper switches that is spazzing out. VIDEO OF IT HERE What is this box? What does it do? Why could it be clicking? My thoughts are since I took the hood...

Ate 2 sets of gps in a month or so

A shot in the dark here but Is there any chance of the manual button having loose internals causing the plugs to intermittently come on while running? Swapping to a new toggle button could help isolate the problem.

Making a junkyard parts run for the 86 F250

That’s a good piece of detail there so thanks for sharing. I haven’t decided the best way to approach mounting this rain guard. I could either replace all of the window rubber and clip the lip of the guard into the rubber, or I could 3M it.
