    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

The problem I was having does seem to be that the factory relay was not putting out enough juice, the white rodgers gets it running with only one glow plug cycle and it works great. This morning I had to use a screwdriver the short the relay because their seems to be a gremlin somewhere in the...

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

I did use a high end fluke meter to test them when I put them in 6 months ago and I was testing with a Klein today that’s likely the actual culprit here

    Alternator Idler Pulley for V-Belts?

So far this seems to be the ultimate solution, I don’t have enough miles on it yet to say for sure but it has completely eliminated the problem in a clean and efficient way.

    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

The problem is it’s a work in progress, I mess with my wiring at least once a month, once I have a few things sorted I will probably make it nice.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

Wow these things really really cook, that was after about 8 seconds and you could feel the heat from a ways away.

    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

I was having issues with not quite getting enough heat out of my glow plugs so I installed my new CDD kit, interestingly all the new ZD29s are reading 0 ohmes off my meter but I know I am still getting heat out of them.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

Interesting, they seem to be working good, they pass the test light test fine and they pull down current when I push the button and it starts fine. Maybe my meter is struggling I’m not sure

    Alternator Idler Pulley for V-Belts?

Here’s the solution so far, it is a weld on not a bolt on. I may be able to instal it today and show further.

My Project Thread. 88 350, my first idi.

EZs outs are incredible tools with immense power, but with great power comes great responsibility. You have to buy high quality and they rarely work on very small fasteners, an EZ out will almost never work without heat and you don’t push on the really very much at all, if you have to push on...

A small welding tip on an oxy acetelyne torch is a good way to carefully apply heat to something like that, it works for me all the time.

Wow that’s actually good info, although it was more general curiosity. I might have to check that next time I have a pile of it at work

Can you burn hydraulic oil the same as you would motor oil? It usually has no soot in it and can often be had in a fairly clean form.

6.9 Sounds Hollow, Clatter/Rattle with Low Oil Level.

Most engines make noise when they are low on oil so it could be just that, that being said @FrozenMerc is spot on with his statement.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Is it 2 in pipe with an H pipe? I have been thinking I might do one

I pulled the axle bearings out of the front axle on my 87 in pieces, too small and too many to count it was just lumpy grease.

    Heater core bypass/coolant filter

Things are supposed to not blow hot air when you turn the heat off, but sometimes the solonoid or whatever that makes that happen breaks when it’s old. This is a workaround for that.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Are you running duals on that unit?

    "Waller'd" I-Beam

If you have a machine shop willing to do that I would say go for it, check with them before you weld it as I know I would like to be the welder if I was doing the machining.
