    Turbo kit mfg's

If it runs like a sewing machine and you just want a little more power I would turbo and not stud it. But I would keep boost low and have good gauges.

I think i done burned up the starter

I know everyone says it doesn’t work this way but mine smoked from everywhere and absolutely would not light off until I replaced the return lines and it fired almost immediately.

    96 First Powerstroke

I have a small fuel leak from an underrmined location. It is far forward and up near the filter area I think but it puddles on the valley pan area under the turbo. Not sure where it is coming from do you have any ideas on a common problem? I may need to rebuild the fuel bowl and things is there...

    Socket size

If I remember right I sold those at an ace hardware I used to work at some customers really went nuts for them and I didn’t understand why. Maybe we know now

    Lunchbox locker

Lots of folks will lock only one hub with a full front locker for three wheel driveability

    96 First Powerstroke

Starter went bad in a parking lot but it cooled off and I was able to drive. Already warranty swapped it for free. The last owner had a Napa one in it. I would like a better one but you can’t beat free and available.

    96 First Powerstroke

The doors had issues and yesterday I picked up a new door latch plastic thing for the truck side and when I left Napa the door flew open lol. So I got right on that and now both the doors close perfectly and line up.

    Lunchbox locker

This depends on your road conditions, a road that is a solid sheet of ice with 6-12 inches of snow on it is what some consider “off road conditions” and we see that here. Nothing behaves good enough to let someone else use my truck in our winter conditions here.

96 f350 rear fuel tank skid plate and tank straps

I would go for a wrecking yard or make something.

    96 First Powerstroke

I completely agree, the only thing easier is using a relatives alignment rack on the weekend which is what I do. The alignment on the truck isn’t even bad, it’s just not quite perfect.

    Bad Brake Booster?

Half the parts I ever bought from o Reilly a failed out the box, but the warranty is good so if those are your choices go for the warranty at oreilys.

    96 First Powerstroke

I will put it on the alignment rack soon, at this point with the new tires and all it’s really not bad at all.

Thanks! My wife picked them out we wanted to look cool.

    96 First Powerstroke

I fixed the exhaust leak mostly today, manifold was loose to the head on drivers side and the bolts were hand tight and they tightened up again!! We got new brakes as a surprise, last owner must have just done them, and I put on new tires because the old ones we’re bald and had a major flat...

    Whats it worth?

Well we got our 7.3 powerstroke 1996 F250 rust free for $4500, however that’s with 280k miles, broken 4wd, missing interior panels, and no maintenance history. We’ve just got it but so far it seems good. Based on what others are going for it seems like a good deal but too soon to say for sure.

    rear end identification

I’ve used 80-90 in all my rear ends I assumed these were the same……. I know I have 80-90 in my 87 and that’s what the parts book said to use.

Manual shut off for inj. Pump

Is the end goal to make the truck run and drive with no electricity or to be able to turn it off with a broken solonoid? Because a chunk of steel plate cut to fit your intake or a pice of solid plywood will do the shut down just fine.

86 6.9 keep leaking out the left rear injector return

The tank valve? I don’t think so unless it’s happening to all of them and just not returning anything. For testing purposes you could place your return line in a bucket and see if it fixes it.

    7.3L IDI hypermax turbo

How is your timing? Do you have a trailer you can tow or a few thousand lbs to put in the bed for testing purposes? Also this might get more attention in the IDI section if it’s an IDI

So what did you do with your truck today?

    We bought another one

Manual shut off for inj. Pump

Have you considered carrying a spare fuel shut off solonoid?

    96 First Powerstroke

Picked up a 1996 7.3 powerstroke with 285k on it yesterday. It is pretty clean body work wise and runs good. It has a pre turbo exhaust leak that seems to be killing boost and all the things a used rig needs (especially tires and a steering box). It does smoke on startup a fair bit but always...

    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

I guess it’s time for me to start a thread in the powersmoke section. We got the price down to where it was a pretty good deal.

    c6 to t-19 questions

I agree although once when I was much younger I reached through the window to start my truck after an engine replacement and it was in gear and drove itself straight into my other truck………. I learned some things that day
