how to go on with my E4OD

After that I worked my truck hard (I think the seal from the TC ) gave up on me, and vomited all the oil over the street. I managed to pull a bit of oil that was left, and that was dark red, almost brown, without any particles in it, didn't smell burned or so, and actually has the same color as...

    BW1356 transfer case oil change

hello all, I'd like to go and change my transfer case oil, in the factory manual it states that you should replace it by Mercon. It seems that Mercon isn't made anymore since 2006, it's replaced by MerconV. I found some short films on youtube what seems to happen if you use Mercon V in your...

    The Moose Truck

This film, funny, a guy in a F-150 imagining that he's driving a semi... but it's good to see that these things are possible.

    Sinking brake pedal *solved*

yep, That's the thing I did after repairing my system, involving replacing brake cilinders, hoses, overhauling the front calipers etc.,and since we don't have a brake test bank, I did it the old fashioned way, rear axle on a jack, turning the wheel and turning the starwheel until it blocked, and...

    Sinking brake pedal *solved*

I see your point, but since this is only a 10.000 mile truck, I don't think much about wear.

    Sinking brake pedal *solved*

is it by any means possible that those starwheels retract during operation? since on my new break shoes the rivet to attach the little steel wire (the mechanism to adjust that starwheel) is missing, I decommissioned that adjusting system, and adjusted them by hand. I did notice though, that...

Proper way to check oil level on 7.3 idi

Thanks, I read it. That's a nogo for me, I guess I love too much my frame... though with a oilfilter relocating kit that might work?

    Dbl7405 filter install

You guys not worried by taking up some road debris with that thing? I wouldn't cut up my frame for anything in the world, I guess there will be a point in the trucks life, that it needs all the framestrength in the world to come out well. Why don't you use a oil filter relocating kit?

The first big trip after 13 years.

The trans fluid was up to the max. on the dipstick, I don't think I lost too much during the travel, It was lost when I came to a halt just before entering a regional road in the middle of the night, there was only a bit of spray on the rear axle. I don't know how much was ditched on the road...

Proper way to check oil level on 7.3 idi

What's this Donaldsons filter? just a regular oilfilter, or a whole special setup???

Ok, so to me it looks that apart from a lot of elbow grease the damage could be reasonable? Thanks for the advise so far, if anyone has more, I welkom it.

so this is typical a case of overheating? I was under the impression that the E4OD was a good transmission? I have also a Dodge W200, with the 727, that has less issues.

The first big trip after 13 years.

Well, I guess something more drastic is in place here now, and I guess that I need more as only a new filter. I think that if you are aware of symptoms, and and have a indication, things doesn't necessarely have to turn out nasty. Here is the proof that something in my observations went wrong...

The first big trip after 13 years.

Aha, Ok, I will have the throttle sensor looked after, and the trans fluid replaced, and then I'm curious if it still happens, though this might take a while.

The first big trip after 13 years.

@IDIBRONCO , that should not be possible, since this combo is build like that, and they won't accept if it did so with a patient abord, I'm sure! other that that, (I did'nt mention) I had to remove the ambu body and replaced it with a flat deck (the officials told me to, and after that still...
