fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

sometimes yes and sometimes not, I've broken open drivers side 2nd and pass side 3and 4th the others I daren't, when I start turning the nut, the line turns with it. and when the engine runs, it doesn't stay running, therefore yes and no.

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

well, I find it harder and harder to keep myself motivated for this truck. spent today again more time to start her, but no thank you. At least I found out that that anti return thingie is one with the rubber flappers inside, and a 1/2" wrench turns the head. oh, yes, the inside is not shutting...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

Aha! That's why I emptied my batteries yesterday! [If you have sucked all the air out of the system before the filter then plug that return line while you're trying to start it.] and then reinstalling it when the engine runs? Thanks.

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

And I'm not sure if I made a small mistake? I thought that I needed to connect the fuel return to the 2nd filter feed??? (have a look at the first image, the arrows at the filter head.) That is because I'm not really sure what that should be doing?

Have you cracked the injectors loose? Usually crack them all loose and close as fuel bubbles out. Didn't think of that!

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

well, I have most things already in place, though with parts that I can obtain locally to avoid huge shipping bills. I must say that you (in the USA) have nice parts special for this truck (obvious). What I wonder, today I had tried to get her started, and with a electric fuel pump I had sucked...

    Hard start, not fuel return[?]

it's a pity, quality (whatever) is more and more difficult to get, most of the time you still find knowledge and a good work ethos with paps and **** shops, but these people often retire (logic) and then dissapear to the eternal mechanic fields :-) and most young people think that they can...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

Well, I don't really like to invent the wheel for a second time, hence my questions. I got my rear tank full of fresh dieselfuel, and now know that they are (the both) 19 gal. or 72 Liter. I undid the flexible hose from the steel lines to the pump, earlier on to see if the engine still ran, with...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

I found out about the hidden "T" in the return line, now I have a mental design of how this system works, thanks. Is there a way to find out how big the both (front steel, rear plastic) tanks are on my truck?

    Hard start, not fuel return[?]

These engines are indirect injection, they need pre glowing. It's only Direct Injection engines that don't need pre glowing with temperatures above freezing.

are you sure? It's a whole distance, from the tank to the filter...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

one more question; if the whole fuel system is empty, what would be the best way to fill and purge it? I prefer not to empty the batteries or cook the starter?

Need some 7.3 filter head check valve advise

That could be logic if you are sure for the function/direction of the fluid. To me what I read here in this post is more gestimate what and where diesel or air should do???? I was thinking (seeing only a small hole in my brass fitting on that same spot) that this was ford's form of reducing...

What to do with this fuel filter?

@ original poster; does it drive without problems? I would change it for the same filter, now or at your first oil change, and note the date and/or mileage on it then you are sure where you are maintenance wise, and go from there. seen that this is a fuel filter, every year, maybe every two...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

well, I just sit down after installing the new filter head, and I can confirm that's there, just a little brass hose pillar (at least that's how we call it). and that has a restriction in it, a very tiny hole, which is needed to lose the eventually foam and air bubbles in the return circuit. On...

    Blinking Fuel Filter Light

@ Screwhead, you still have the last fuel filter you changed? I would suggest you open it up, and have a good look at the media. I have had problems with the diesel pest, and I've written something about that here...

fuel flow drawing wanted, can't see how return gets in tank?

'89 F-350. after cleaning all fuel related parts before the engine, I want to install temporarily another fuel filter assy. I can see the double fuel lines coming from the tanks, and I see where the fuel feed line to the HP pump is, and I see where the return hose is connected to the standard...

Fuel filter light comes up what could be the cause?

Done, tanks are all clean, I cleaned these pick-up assey's, cleaned the lines out, am busy installing a cheaper temp.filter and then filling up the tanks with new proper (treated) diesel and off we go!

Fuel filter light comes up what could be the cause?

I have no Idea why, but most plastic (or rubber) parts desintergrate when you touch them? Does anyone have a design how they should be? in order to get the fuel system to work again? Thank you in advance.
