    Tire choice help...

Too late maybe, but I have these. Good reviews and 2000 miles on them, I like them. https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/corsa-highway-terrain/p/11348?all-vehicles=true#/read-reviews

How can I determine if steering wheel controls work?

Thanks for the info guys. I do have a 3rd brakelight up on top of the cab, not sure if it works or not.

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

I had the turbo rebuilt by Russ as he has done a few of these for one other owner I talked to. Both compressor and turbine wheel replaced. Not sure what size they are. The other owner told me via PM he has a 6.9 with studs, 3 to 4" exhaust, bull moose IP and this setup, and he is seeing 2-3 psi...

How can I determine if steering wheel controls work?

I'm trying to get mine working. I found the troubleshooting tips in the tech section. But I want to check the really common problems before I pull out the fluke and start reading ohms and stuff. Nothing happens when I push "on" on the steering wheel. I expected a dash light or something. If I...

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

The biggest K&N I could find. Its a simple setup, there's no restriction. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/knn-re-0920/overview/ I'm seeing between .5 to 1 psi at 65-70mph on the highway just cruising unloaded. Around 22-2300 rpm. One thing I may do tonight is plug the turbo and pressurize...

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

Drove it today, noticeably better, i've gone from about 4psi max to 5. Going to try some more with the leak tester today.

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

It was warm but not hot. Probably drove it 1 hour prior to pulling in the garage. Other issue is my tester connection is a schrader valve, not exactly a high volume inlet.

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

Plugged exhaust. Hooked up leak tester. Found one noticeable leak at the top of the intake hat where the bolt holds it down. I'll post pics later, I just have a regular looking bolt/washer. Not sure what's supposed to seal it there. I threw a fat, appropriately sized o-ring on the bolt and...

    ZF, TOB or something else?

That is the cab pinch seam where the turbo up/down pipes come up to the turbo. The seam has to be bent as part of the turbo installation in order for them to clear. He is bending his with what looks like a little hydraulic jack?

    ZF, TOB or something else?

Mine did the same thing. Turbo pipes contacting cab. Accelerating torques your engine/transmission one way and nothing contacts. Decelerating (or accel in reverse) torques it the other way. Give it enough torque and you get metal/metal contact. Downshifting or letting the clutch out in reverse...

    Compression release valve

That "steam like smoke with oil in it" is blow-by. Its normal unless you are burning through a ton of oil (needing to add more than a quart every 1000 miles or so) If oil is leaking from the CDR valve where it attaches to your air intake, then you do need to replace whatever seal you have on...

    ZF, TOB or something else?

Torque causing the turbo up or down pipe to contact the cab That will be 5 dollars :)

I ordered the boost leak tester. Have to see about a plug for my exhaust but im sure I can figure that out

Banks 1st Gen turbo outlet size

Yes, yes it does. I don't know if i've let it go all the way to 3200 but when I say 4psi at 2500 I mean that I stomped on it at 2500 on the interstate and it ran up to 2800 or 2900 and never got above 4psi

Would something like this help me check for leaks on the intake side? http://www.frozenboost.com/intake-leak-pressure-tester/intake-pressure-tester-p-160.html?osCsid=e9f9557cb5e2261a03f86a51f6e74584

Well unfortunately after a ton of work I am still not seeing anything over 4psi, WOT 2500 RPM I have gone through the exhaust side of things. I removed the banks up-pipe and my exhaust manifolds, replaced the manifold gaskets, scrubbed the flanges good with a wire brush, put back together using...

    Tire choice help...

Maybe the diameter is so big that they are spinning at a low enough RPM that balance is not felt. On a car tire you never seem to feel any vibrations from an out of balance tire until 50+ mph. Our equinox needs tires balanced and I don’t feel any shaking until 60 and it’s gone passing 70

So what did you do with your truck today?

Last night: removed right side inner fender panel. Bought a quart of POR-15 Ordered new front cab mount bushings. I went with stock rubber over poly. The factory radiator support bushings look fine actually. This weekend, I have unprecedented amounts of free time. I hope to get the exhaust...

Borgesson Steering Shaft... Just Do IT!!!!

How is the 980 compared to the 985? Looks like about $60 extra for the vibration dampener. Any issues without it, do you get any feedback through the wheel when turning?

So what did you do with your truck today?

I might have to do this while my inner fenders are off!

So what did you do with your truck today?

Said F the honey-do list and pulled the inner wheel fenders off. Also I spent last weekend helping a family member refresh suspension in his C1500. We did ball joints, springs, shocks, tie rod ends etc... ended up with a nice new impact (aircat1150) and a legit ingersoll rand air hammer...

Ha I went back and looked at my own pics here and discovered that the missing stud was not the part that was leaking. You can see where it was leaking past the upper left stud that is still in place. Either way, it was definitely leaking. I have a new metal turbo gasket on the way today, going...
