    Death Wobble

That's a possibility, but they had under 500 miles when it broke down. Bought the truck and immediately put a 4" suspension kit and tires on it. Only drove it a handful of times locally and then had the engine fire. The tread and sidewalls appear to be in good shape, and there was still 20lbs of...

    Death Wobble

I'm a newb armed with factory service manuals, it just takes me a little longer to undertake the learning curve for every minute facet of every dang thing. Still figuring out what's needed, what updates are available, and where to procure the parts. That said, I pretty much figured it was in the...

    Death Wobble

The test drive was cut short when I got a really bad wobble at around 45-50. I immediately assumed tires, so pulled them off and cleaned all the debris that had accumulated during the 13 years it sat. Took it out and same. I searched the forum and realized the driveshafts could cause this. Since...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I only had a paper painter's mask, so yes, the fumes built up. I had to step out several times. Had the heater blowing on the parts, which helped dry each coat in minutes. When I did step away I'd leave one side of the end open, and it only took a few minutes to change the air. Here's a picture...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Ordered a new top/sides piece for one I had that was around 5 years old. Broke it down and set up at a friends place where the donor was sitting on jack stands. Put plywood on the floor, and reinforced the sides with some panels that were laying around. The put a LED strip light, bug zapper...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I did the same, converted a HF portable garage into a paint booth with poles between ladders and bailing wire to hold parts. Got some clear, but was concerned after reading the instructions that it's flammable. Didn't know if some base ingredient would cause a fire even after dry. Did OBS Ford...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I added a CDD rebuilt 088 with a Garett fan, stage 1 injectors, and a fresh 110cc ip to the engine with a full reseal. Hoping to see around 300hp/700t. Thinking the zf542 will help a lot with both the low 3 gears and not loosing any power through a AT.

Is that rattle-can paint? Looks nice.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I was undecided which way to go when planning the engine/transmission swap. Really wanted the PS power, but really like the IDI simplicity. Then got a deal on a '90 donor that couldn't be beat.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Installed a terminal strip on the back of the new water separator with relays for the holly and fuel heater. Tapped out enough 1/4x20's for the future powered running boards. Will add dedicated door switches so only the side with the open door will extend. It's just too high for some folks to...

    '03 axle swap

I wonder if anyone has had issues after drilling out the hubs? Under fair weather, no load conditions it would be fine, but pulling a steep grade with 12k+ lbs in tow on a 105° afternoon will bring a whole new level of metallurgy issues into play that I personally don't possess the knowledge to...

    '03 axle swap

Bookmarked the link. It's a little concerning making the extra holes in the wheels, wouldn't want to compromise the integrity. Is nice to know there are options. Thanks

    '03 axle swap

Exactly. To be honest, it's not about the money. It's a love at first sight thing. I didn't even know they existed until I saw it on eBay. Had to have it, and won the auction. Was about 100 miles away. Knew I was in trouble driving it home, as I knew absolutely nothing at all about anything...

    '03 axle swap

Checked out the hydroboost master, and will probably go that route. I like that the Wildwood system bolts directly to it. Not sure if I can do a RSK at this time, I didn't plan on the axle swap, and that's going to be an extra $2,500 with cheap wheels, new calipers, and all the plumbing. Still...

    '03 axle swap

Got the C350 running and driving down the road. barely. The bushings are toast everywhere, from the entire steering to the sway links, they are rotted through. I picked up a set of '03 super duty axles. I like the leaf spring posture and want to keep that, but I also want the modern wheel...

7.3idi clutch slave throw distance question

Ouch. Of course the assembly for 89’s isn’t offered as a kit. Had to use two different vendors.

7.3idi clutch slave throw distance question

Cool. Am out of town for a few days on biz, will evacuate, re-bleed, then evacuate again to make sure it is all flushed out. A counter person at oreilly's swore it was good. Thanks for not laughing..

7.3idi clutch slave throw distance question

Finally got the engine sorted out well enough to attempt a "self-motivation" test. The clutch will not engage. I used a vacuum bleed system to completely empty everything, then put the hopper on the master, and pulled fluid out of the slave until I couldn't see even the tiniest bubbles, then...

Fixed One Electrical Issue and Got Another

'89 F350 Lariat crew cab short box. Was so focused on the electrical I didn't even think to check the vacuum lines. I believe I know the exact culprit.

Fixed One Electrical Issue and Got Another

I recently posted about the engine wiring harness in my C350. The cold start high idle didn't work. After some investigation I discovered severely corroded wires and connectors. I took the engine harness out, eliminated the glow plug wiring at the back, and relocated it to the front crossmember...

    Electric Fuel Pump Control

I'm hoping to enable the fuel pump relay automatically when the ignition switch is in "run" or "start" position. Going through the ignition switch sequence it appears as though there is no dedicated circuit for only those two modes. There are some dedicated Start circuits, and some that are Run...

    C350 Electrical Nightmare

I was hoping to put off the electrical until this phase was done, but apparently that will not be the case. Going to plan it out, pull the two engine harnesses out, get a 3g connector, and build two new complete ones. Will build the GP harness for a relocated GP relay on the cross member next to...
