So what did you do with your truck today?

Got a couple new shirts. And my new favorite Was an awesome truck show. Folks came from all over the US. After hearing about some folks that drove from New Jersey I quit whining about the three hour drive for me.

    Power steering hose

I encountered the identical issue on my '89 7.3 during reassembly. I was told under no uncertain terms there should be no play, so I replaced the pump and pres. hose with new seal. I got the identical easy spin after done. I then replaced the small seal with a larger one I had from a kit. Same...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Due solely to my general ignorance of dually's, why wouldn't that be used as an inside tire? Is it structural, if I recall there's a lip on it, or just appearance? That aside, it would defiantly take a minute to grind it out. I'd take a cutting wheel and try to make a proportional octagon, and...

    Someone go get it!!!

Current high bid is $33,500 with two days to go. it's a '90 460 gasser, has been converted to serpentine. Says the top can be removed, but looks like the seam has been filled and painted over on the roof, which was the only way to make them stop leaking. It's show ready, had to close the page...

    Hydroboost Conversion

Ever since starting this thread last week I've been reading every write up I could find. Now am procuring parts. Had a rough time trying to get the OEM numbers to search, spent days weeding out worthless link after link, going several pages into Duck searches. Then decided to give AI search a...

    Someone go get it!!!

That is the cleanest C350 I've ever seen. The variations between years is crazy. Mine's a '89 7.3, but now I'm going to start looking for the '90 rear HVAC coils. The one's in my truck are just open coils mounted on a fabricated rack with a cheesy funnel duct at the fan. There's a center console...

G Force Experienced in Suspension Learning Curve.. Questions

I am. Just got the RS front kit delivered, the rear flip kit, rear SD conversion kit, and panhard orders are being filled. Hopefully will ship soon. Replacing calipers, rotors, pads, bearings, and converting to hydro in the meantime. Tearing out the clutch/brake assembly to modify the pedal...

    Hydroboost Conversion

Go figure, all it needs is a 3/4" pin relocation. I like the fact the hydro unit could then be replaced anywhere with over the counter parts. Of course I already fully reconditioned the donor brake/clutch assembly, and installed. Oh well, guess it's not done right until the second time..lol I'm...

    Hydroboost Conversion

It's gonna hurt, but I'm probably going to go with a Sweeney or OBS Solutions kit. No way the axle swap will be under $8k complete, but that includes full suspension, whole brake system, wheels, tires, and bearings. The biggest problem is some vendors are 90 days out on shipping.

    Detroit Axle Brakes?

Wondering if anyone has used those Detroit Axle ceramic pads and rotors for SD axles sold online? They seem to be about 1/2 the cost for all four wheel rotors and pads.

Talk me out of it, please

I'm far too spoiled anymore. It took a lot of room to pack and then set up all the little things separately, propane bucket shower, portapotty, cot, airbag, TV, lighting, table, etc, and then the added electronics, signal amplifier, jailbroke streamer, merlin air card, an AC was absurd. But...

Talk me out of it, please

That's quite the juggling act. I'm rural, and most projects were 70-120 miles away, so I picked up a ultralight 24' camper and just found RV sites close by. Was a second home, actually spent more time in the camper than home. What you are doing is not easy, and takes a LOT of in depth system...

Talk me out of it, please

Racing motorcycles around the PNW I had a 18' car hauler I converted to a mobile garage with very basic living accommodations. AAA has a premiere RV plan that will tow both truck and trailer up to 250 miles. If you do tow both they count as two separate tows, even if done at the same time...

    Hydroboost Conversion

I've found myself repeating "I believe" multiple times over the last couple weeks when ordering parts. Aside from the original purchase of the axles, which was a really good bargain, it's probably going to be $6-$7k for the swap including wheels and tires if I'm lucky. That said, there will...

    Hydroboost Conversion

Going to to swap from vacuum to hydraulic powered brakes. Looking for a kit, wondering if anyone has already been there and can recommend a quality system. Planned on bolting a Wildwood master w/progressive valve. Doing a '03 SD axle swap.

No Speedometer and intermittent tach after Swap

Base truck - 1989 F350 XLT Lariat Crew cab, short box, E4OD, Centurion (4 door Bronco) Conversion Donor truck 1990 F350 XLT Crew Cab, long box, Zf542. Converted to ZF.

No Speedometer and intermittent tach after Swap

Put a fresh reseal on a low mileage 7.3 and the zf it came with into my previously E4OD with blown engine. The speedo doesn't work. I used the cable, transmission harness, and the dash from the donor to eliminate the PRNDL and the extra wire for the auto. I have no information on the previous...

    Anyone using Mini Leaf Springs?

From what I've read just using OEM springs from 08-16 will add 2" lift, front or back. Do you know if that's true?
  19. divemaster5734

    Leaf springs

I'm going through suspension mod issues myself. It's my understanding 08-16 are longer and better ride. Looking at a kit from Sky Offroad as I can weld, but full fab of the mounts requires precise measurements that I don't have.

G Force Experienced in Suspension Learning Curve.. Questions

Someone mentioned the word "caster" the other day, which sent me down a rabbit hole which I am just now beginning to emerge. I blindly ordered a RS kit, which is fortunately going to work, but need to get new springs. The RS kit is a 2" lift, and OEM 08-16 springs will give another 2", for 4"...

    Anyone using Mini Leaf Springs?

Did you mean that with the FSR moving to the back the long leaf spring gives a better caster? Is that because the spread out load bearing spring is holding the truck in front of the now reversed shackle, reducing the negative caster?

    Anyone using Mini Leaf Springs?

Just ordered the Sky Offroad FSR and rear conversion kits. During my search for new leaf springs I came across those mini leaf springs that fit. Has anyone used those, and if so, what do you think? I'm dropping it from a 4" to a 2" lift during the conversion. Will still have plenty of wheel...

    Death Wobble

Makes sense, just a tough pill to swallow. But then, it's a lot easier to deal with the tires on my timeline as compared to a blowout. That could be catastrophic with those 35's. Like the posture, but might just go stock elevation. Would save having to install power running boards. I modified...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Got the intake fabbed up. Engine is done, now axles, suspension, interior, and dash wiring.
