So what did you do with your truck today?

I changed the coolant filter. And you're right @Jesus Freak , my filter head has the reduced size hole also. The test strip said to add one pint of sca, so added Napa kool and called it a day.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Did that filter head have a full size hole in the threaded hub that the filter screws on to? @Jesus Freak and I both seem to be running the same filter head and his has a reduced size hole, (well, until he modified it) I haven't removed my existing filter yet to verify if mine is a reduced...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Oh yeah, and since I just finished running my mouth about pictures, here's the method I used to make it easier to remove that snap ring. I eventually mounted the "C" clamp in a vise which made for fewer moving parts.

Yeah, without photographic evidence it didn't really happen. Let's see some proof! Come on @KansasIDI , get with the program Mr. ;Poke :joker:

The one you painted. 15, wow, you've got talent! I saw the one in the bed along with the door, though, hanging out with your fresh drive shaft.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I installed new "o" rings in my power steering pump and replaced the hose from the pump to the steering gear. I figure this could be the original pump since it has Ford cast into the body. The bushing in the body where the shaft goes through was still in great shape, I'm not sure if that's...

He's just testy because he doesn't have a huge collection of scrap metal overtaking his life. Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Sorry about that @1mouse3 , I couldn't let it go. No more thread interruptions. :Q

Cool, thanks. I'll be searching amsoil kits and adding to my wish list.

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

Okay, thanks. I have zero experience with big rigs, but I've always changed oil in all my vehicles at 3k miles, whether it's synthetic oil or not. I figure that it's my engine and I want it to last, the cost of an oil change is chump change compared to rebuilding and replacing an engine. I like...

This may be a dumb question.... what do you mean by an oil bypass filter? I'm all about engine longevity.

Could you Sleeve down an old crusty 7.3 to run 6.9 pistons???

I bought a 7.3 remand engine from Jasper for $8k last year. Has a 2 year unlimited mile warranty. I figured it was pricey but the warranty sealed the deal for me.

I have a set of those and the only trick is that you have to attach them to the torque wrench at a 90 degree angle to get the correct torque value. Anything else and it works like a torque multiplier.

70 bucks for two straps sounds higher than the balls on a moose. Just my opinion.

I've had usps lose several cards for me recently. They ask if I put tracking info on it, who puts tracking info on a birthday card?! I think they feel for a gift card and then remove it and conveniently lose the letter.

I don't know, I can't get behind that one. It's like saying I don't want a fork because if I have one I'll eat too much and get fat. Look at it this way, while collecting all that scrap metal you could branch into a different medium for cupholders. Instead of wood you could use metal. Make...

I'm interested to know how it goes, I have the same thing on my agenda. The seal kit is sitting on my bench.... waiting for me.

I bought my synchrowave 250 brand new 30+ years ago. That's a humorous story, but more involved than I feel like writing. And this plays into that humorous story. Hence the ex wife.

I recently picked up a freebie Hobart mvp 210 because the control board is trashed. The new board is 1/3 the cost of the machine brand new, so I figure I'll replace it and keep it for my mig machine. I have a tiny Lincoln 140 that I use for Flux core, so between those two and my Miller, I've got...

Wow, you sir, have an impressive collection of welding machines! After reading this, all I can say is.... you could easily change your username to WELDERHOG. Or maybe GOHREDLEW, if that's more your style. Ya know, anything after 10 welding machines is just showing off. Just sayin. ;Poke :rotflmao

So what did you do with your truck today?

I was just messing with you. I did have it dripping off both elbows though before I got my act together. I'm sure it would have made a comical video. At least I didn't have my mouth open.
