Not sure sure what this sound is. But it's horrible. Can't tell if it's lower end ( reason for rebuild in first place although sounded worse wen i pulled it) or fuel. What y'all guys think?
Lol. Mine popped off and hid between the plate that holds the fuel filter head and the block. Found it by accident 6 years later while changing the thermostat.
My 85 had the less desirable rockers. But ultimately it's your purchase. Around here in texas any idi has skyrocketed up in price compared to a few years ago. Not a bad deal.
I had to steal a wiring harness from an automatic in my back yard and leaving that unplugged is exactly what I did. No effect whatsoever. Been like that for 2 years. On that note, beware your glow plugs harness. Reason for replacement was I caught fire trying to go home from work. What them two...
Mine has never squealed at any point even with all lights and heater on high. I am still using v belts as well. No shim, no grinding. Just bolted on and modified the wiring. I have 3 trucks with this mod. 88, 89, and a 91.
In my opinion, that price sounds fair being the condition it's in and the fact it's 4x4. Just my opinion with the way diesels have went up in price recently.
I am unaware of this makes any difference, but I used a 3g from a 95 Windstar with the 3.8 liter. I didn't have to shim anything. I just sank the nut with the lock washer. Maybe the Taurus housing is different?
That is unfortunate. I put the 6.5 out of a 93 2500 into the wife's 88 2500 suburban with the nv4500 and np208 transfer. She absolutely loves the combo with the 3.73 solid front end and a matching geared rear end. Avg 21 mpg in that lifted boat and she slides that thing everywhere. Good...
When you're referencing a disappearing diaphragm what exactly do you mean? I found a write up on replacing the CDR valve and I ordered the parts but they won't arrive until February 24th. Definitely oil leaking down the engine block out of it.
There is a diaphragm in the cdrv. If it tears...
Just a suggestion, something I have felt with a few times, check your cdrv. My diaphragm has disappeared a time or two on different engines I have acquired and that caused some of my blue smoke. Just something to check.
Well I had to mess with 3 things to make the 10.5 work. Parking brake cable had to be adjusted, brake lines had to be altered for the new rear end, and I've heard others say that their hubs had to be altered in some way to keep the old 6.5x8 lugs. I just kept the rims that were on the rear axle...
You could always find a rear end or at least a ring and pinion from a junkyard pretty cheap with the ratio you want. I recently found 4 rear ends with disk brakes and paid 150 a piece for them. Was hoping for a deal when he said he would sell one for 150. But oh well. All were 01 to 03 rear...
Classic diesel designs also can sell the braided steel oil feed line that attaches from a stock port that is plugged from factory on back drivers driv of the engine to the top of your turbo if you wanted to utilize the oil pressure sender in the factory na spot and avoid messing with the stock...
