7.3 idi stalling while on load

The lift pump is on the front bottom of the passenger side of the block. Depending on your area shouldn't be more than 50 bucks. Local parts store to me in tx charged me 35 for one. 700 bucks is more like the injection pump on top of the block price.

    Water in oil

I noticed when either of the rear cylinders are up at tdc I can hear it start dripping into the oil pan as well as the second to rear cylinder on the driver side. Whenever they are down and I leave it a while I can't hear it anymore but it sprays like hell out the gp hole as it comes back up...

    Odd braking

Il check that when I get off. Thanks man! Hoping it's this and not the booster yet.

    Odd braking

Even though pedal feels normal while pressing it? Not doubting you, just curious. Any other time I had a bad booster or vaccume leak the pedal was real hard to press. They behave like this when bad as well?

    Odd braking

Ok so my brakes work awesome. Touchy rather. But when I touch the brake pedal the pedal will stay or suck to the floor and continue to slow or stop the truck after I remove my foot. Typically have to pull it back up after use and it feels like I'm pulling the pedal against vaccume so that I can...

    heater hoses

I have an 89 and 90 bricknose and a 92 obs that are set up this way. I had to order that line off of ebay. All of mine that have this setup are automatic trans. Only clue I have for this. All but the 92 were deleted and just the straight hose. Left the 92 alone and just replaced the original...

    Electrical help

I have been for some time till my recent swap to the 3g. And I am no wiring guru and I had it figured out and done in the junkyard parking lot in 30 minutes. That's watching the 11 min video, pulling the wires, and snatching the alternator out of a donor. Worked great all the way to o'riley to...

    Electrical help

If you are still externally regulated (v belt), I would suggest getting rid of that first (external regulator). Alot of youtube videos on this and write ups here. I just went to the parts store and got an alternator for a 95 windstar for a 3.8 and a 4 guage wire about 2 or 3 foot. Then went to a...

    D 60 swap

That is good info Golden helmet. Thank you. I have the whole donortdonor in the back yard, it is missing the driveshaft though. Do I just swap the rotors from the dually f 350 front with my rotors from my 250? Not trying to make my 250 a dually. Just want that glorious d60 under my 250. Also...

    D 60 swap

I am about to start pulling a d60 off of a 90 cc dually in my yard with 3.55s for my 91 super cab 2wd f250 srw. What all do I need to do to make this mod work without the dually rims up front? Frame mods, etc?

    6.9 & 7.3 IDI Commandment Lists - IDI Do’s and Don’ts

I am not trying to argue the use of sca or dca, additives are very crucial and IMHO required. But what is the downfall of instead using elc? Again, not a topic of debate, but I do want the facts. If I'm doing something wrong I need to know

    6.9 & 7.3 IDI Commandment Lists - IDI Do’s and Don’ts

Don't take it to a shop that isn't known for dealing with these old beasts! Told my buddy I think he has a bad injector and instead of coming by my house(20 min drive) he took it to ford (1 hour drive) and the dimwit there came out with a obd2 scanner and wasted half an hour looking for...

    3g alternator part #'s for v-belt idi's

Yes it is! And I didn't get the mega fuse, gonna have to wait till later today for it to come in. Batteries are fairly new motorcraft pair. Got them fresh about 8 months ago. I did cheat like no one's business and hooked everything up without the fuse just to fire it up and the old spark tester...

    3g alternator part #'s for v-belt idi's

Thanks boss! Yes I got 10 ft of 4 gage wire(other stuff needs done as well) and I snagged the 3 pin plug and stator wire. Came back about a foot and some change and snipped it there. But I did forget to pick up the 2 copper lugs for the ends of the 4 gage.:fan:. And of course I'm ready to stab...

    3g alternator part #'s for v-belt idi's

I just read this thread before headed to the junkyard for another alt myself and decided on the fly that this is the direction I wanted to go, being this is my 9th alternator and regulator in 4 years. I found what I believe to be what I need. 8 inches center to center on the two holes. Pulled...

what is needed for a disc brake conversion on a sterling 10.25 axle?

I just paid 400 for a sterling 10.5 out of a 2003 sd truck and it was already disk. Been several years ago and still love it. Had to fiddle with the bracket that the main parking brake hooks to before it splits to both sides, but other than that and new metal brake lines(mine were shot) it was...
