    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Good idea, for anyone that doesn't want to have to get up inside the door and deal with a bolt head, or nut, and washer. But, the contact and 'gription' that you are getting by doing that, is not all that much more than just screwing through the panel with a self tapping screw. The best...

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Well, the reviews for the one I listed above make it obvious that the mirror head is chromed plastic. And that they vibrate a lot. I guess I'll keep looking around for actual metal ones.

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Yep. The only problem I might see with these is in parking lots. Because most of the time they will simply be mounted and set and left alone. But in a parking lot, people tend to shove these out of their way. And I'll keep the wrench handy for any of those times when I'll have to adjust it again.

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

I noticed that! Also thinking that if I do this, I'll probably try to mount them as far forward on the door, as I can. And with the arm oriented the way you have them. That way, I can swing the arm further in, for normal driving, and further out, for towing.

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Ok, it looks like this is exactly what you have. Minus the extra supports, and add-ons. Does this look right to everyone...

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Thank you very much. I plan on drilling through the door panel, and installing the legs with stainless 1/4-20 bolts, with nylock nuts.

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

Thank you. THAT is what I want on my truck. (Minus the big square added to the right side.) I wish I knew what to order. I can't find them on amazon. What size is the main mirror? And what size are the legs, and that shoulder part?

    Hey Cubey, mirrors!

What kind of mirrors do you have on the side of your van?

So what did you do with your truck today?

When I replaced my front tank, I eliminated the shower head. The originals lasted a long time, but they still eventually broke off, and crumbled. I don't trust the new ones as far as I can spit. I just put a piece of vinyl tubing on the end of the pickup tube, and put a brass tee, in the end...

    Grab Handles

I installed a grab "strap". Take the visor off. There is a hole there. Stick something in that hole, and probe down toward the door. You'll find a space in there. Drill through in the best spot. Drop a 1/4-20 bolt down through your hole. Put a washer on that bolt, first. Fold a piece of nylon...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

The PO must have bought this trailer connector from U-Haul. It's their kind of connector. And must have wired it in, himself. Because he tapped directly into the truck wiring, instead of using that TEE that @Cubey has talked about. Thing is, the wire going to the right turn signal on the...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

The problem was pinpointed when I said it seems like there is no ground, OR power coming from the #5 contact. It was like it just wasn't even connected. Well, that was the case. The wire from that contact, had been pulled loose from wherever it had been connected before. It was just hanging...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

Ok, I got it fixed, but I'll answer a question or two. Then explain what happened after... That is for reverse lights. Not used on the trailer. Not even connected to anything on the truck contact. I was using continuity ONLY for a secondary 'feedback' as it were. Relying mostly on the analog...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

Disconnecting the relay for my third brake light made zero difference.

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

Thinking about all this, I did another continuity test. Is there continuity between ground and #'s 2 and 5, while brakes or turn signals are on? While nothing is on, 2 grounds. While brakes, hazard, or left turn signal are on, #2 loses ground. There is never a ground on #5, no matter what.

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

I'll reiterate... In @franklin2 's explanation, if the ground on the light itself is bad, the voltages meet, and cancel each other out. The light goes out. But the light on the trailer is fine. It works perfectly on all other vehicles. It only does this, when connected to my vehicle. And I...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

Ok, here is the testing results. Pretty much what I expected. Before I start I will say that it looks like I may be right and wrong at the same time. I think the problem is SOMEHOW a ground problem, but only on the right turn signal/stop connection. And only on the connector, and not on the...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

Very good!!! Thank you. You definitely have a good understanding. :) With this particular trailer, there HAD been a problem with the ground. The trailer was not working correctly, on any vehicle. I worked on the trailer wiring first. I figured out that the ground was indeed bad on the trailer...

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

I explained it thoroughly. Everything works fine on the truck. It just doesn't get communicated to the trailer correctly. Trailer works perfectly on other vehicles. Ergo, problem is in the wiring for the trailer connection. :)

Running lights are on. Both sides working. Put on brakes. ONLY the right side goes out. Left side gets brighter, as it should.

Problem in wiring on truck, for trailer connection.

That is what I hope to find. But the fact that putting on the brakes actually turns the right light completely off, makes me think there is something else going on.
