    Leaking valve covers

They're basically brand new gaskets made of rubber. I doubt there is anything wrong with them, but rather with the rocker covers themselves. Unless they are cut/cracked somehow they would just re-form once the pressure is released. IMHO the answer is pulling the covers and making them dead...

    THSIM9’s 1991 F250 Project

Dang, on the wiring, better you than me! That's a chore. Truck is looking sweet, keep up the good work! I agree on the boat, I grew up fishing but have barely gone as an adult. I miss it! Smallies are the BEST! I only ever got to catch a few of them, best fighters I've faced in fresh water. My...

    Keiser's 7.3 + turbo noob build

I don't know anything about inline air filters, never seen the inside of one, but I'm willing to bet it works fine until it packs with dust and tries to get sucked into the turbo. I had a cheap Spectra filter on my pickup for a while that caved in under vacuum, after IIRC a few months daily...

Oil Pressure Sending Unit Removal - 7.3 NA

Wow that may be the first time a SnapOn tool was cheaper than anything on the market...at least that I've seen! Nice find. Could be that your socket wrench is too thick at the head? They make thin ones for sure, if you don't have one that might be the way to go. Edit: or measure the minimum...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I was so concerned about the Tesla in the driveway that I didn't even notice the mirrors! I agree! :Thumbs Up

Oil Pressure Sending Unit Removal - 7.3 NA

I made a special IP wrench, but it can be done with just end wrenches of the right variety. It's hard to get the angles right but it can be done. You have the 4 lowers left, start with the two you can reach and have fun. Besides the air cleaner, you need to remove the throttle cable bracket and...

Project Thread: 1986 F250 “Farm Truck #1” Build Thread

It can take a while to prime a "dry" IP for sure. And it won't be sending anything to the injectors until it's full of fuel, and unfortunately they aren't designed to allow the inlet pressure to run through the IP to get it purged of air in the first place. Then on top of that, if the IP is full...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Haha that's bonkers. Apparently the crew's wages and time were less that the fuel saved?! Or a sole proprietor with nothing else on the schedule... He'd probably have saved close to the same fuel and gotten there 2x faster at 1200 rpm without risk of damaging the engine via cylinder wash down...

    Power Steering Pump

Something I've read about (I don't have hydroboost) is that if you made the swap but didn't swap in the PEDAL from the HB setup then the pin for the actuator rod will be in the wrong spot. Obviously that's a leverage thing, and some people have the same problems and change the pin and viola, all...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I've towed enclosed trailers for about 17 years now and I've always wondered what those double tube receivers were for... finally you've shed light on that for me! Shoot that's a long lever. I have an 18" single tube extension for the 9ft cabover camper in my avatar. Yours looks about 3ft in...

    EGT questions

I love it when a plan comes together! Glad to hear the good news for you. Yes the up pipe not leaking and a bigger down pipe + open exhaust makes a huge difference. Now you're feeling the way that setup aught to run!

    Expected boost

My wastegate is just unplugged and not wired shut. 13-14psi aftercooled boost WOT almost anywhere doing anything in the higher gears. Gets up to 15 when my slip joint is freshly packed with RTV. Maxed out stocker IP with stock Russ injectors. Nothing fancy really. Oh and I have one cylinder at...

    THSIM9’s 1991 F250 Project

That's were I have mine, too. I didn't want to bother welding the thin SS so I just drilled it, tapped it gently and set the 1/8 NPT with RTV. No issues after years.

Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

Oh good I'm not the only one... I'm pretty sure I had to burn mine out with a propane torch at least on one side, about a decade ago. Cause at some point I was gonna warp or scrape up the inside of the fitting so bad that it wouldn't seal after the surgery anyway! Worked well.

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Thank you sir! I've read a bunch of fast fill mod write-ups but never remembered what they did for the vent after using the roll-over valve. Will a differential vent keep the fuel from spilling out in a roll-over? Now that I know what it's called, I've seen them many times but don't know exactly...

    Cold timing advance problem

That should NOT be happening. What a very strange thing... my guess is IP, but you never want that to be the case with a brand new one. :backoff I know you know this, but the cold advance solenoid is separate from the high idle solenoid, so there are two different things happening at the same...

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

Sounds like you have the Banks up-pipes? That's a good start. @IDIoit makes a sweet up-pipe for the 093. Maybe he could sell you just the lower 2/3'rds of one and you weld the top adapter to it yourself? No matter what you do you're welding something, be it upper or upper and lower + bellows...

    Ac newb questions

I live in North Bend, WA, about 50 mins from Puyallup. I've never had working A/C in my pickup since I bought it(17ish years!) but someday I'll get around to it. When I do, yes the A/C on hot days will be nice. But besides it being for the poor kiddos in the car seats with low air flow, honestly...

    Oil feed line adapter

Yes that port is for the OEM oil pressure sender. It's useless as the dash gauge is just a dummy on/off switch, but that's what the port is for. I have that same setup on the factory Ford turbo kit I put on my 89. I highly suggest getting a real gauge and putting the sender down on the block in...

Same here. Although @david85 has the 4-hole alt and I have the 2-hole like @Cubey , which is bigger.
