I have not tested the coolant.
I don't know if it's contaminant free. It looks good, but looks can be deceiving.
I plan to tow with it. Nothing too heavy at this point, but hopefully that will change. I'm also in south Texas, so I need a cooling system that's in good shape.
Thanks
I need to flush the coolant/antifreeze on old Brownie, my '91 F350. Truck is new to me and I don't know how old the coolant is, but it's green ethylene glycol and the truck has been off the road and used around a farm for about 10 years. Figure the coolant is likely 10+ years old.
I plan to...
Bumping with a related question. I'm going to use low silicate Napa green coolant and add Napa Kool SCAs. Would the acustrip work with the Napa Kool?
Thanks
Yep. Wet clutch. Need to figure out whether it's stuck or not. There's an inspection cover that I can remove to check.
I'm hearing that I might need oil pressure before the rack will operate. Plungers are probably stuck in the up position, too.
I joined acmoc.org; I think they have the...
59 D6? Is that a 9U? Pony start? Would love to have one; my great uncle had a few of those and was still running them 2 days before he died at age 90.
Yes, this one has a turbo; first year for it.
Roger on the trans fill. Ouch.
On the winch, one cable is busted, the other cable is frozen...
I'm trying to save a 1959 D7 from the scrapper but I'm not a heavy equipment mechanic so I could use some assistance with a few things. Details here:
Please let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks!
I don't think so. The Dana 60 swap was a helluva lot of work, and the current plan is just to get this one roadworthy again. Shouldn't be that difficult.
Well, I think I did it again, this time I bought a RUNNING crew cab 7.3 IDI ZF5 4x2 DRW F350. Appears to be completely rust-free, too (gotta love Texas!). Stay tuned for more details!
I have the complete internals from an S47 trans - it was behind a 460. No case. I'm in San Antonio, TX.
The shift rails are longer on the S47, so you can't fit S47 rails in an S42 case unless you shorten them.
Well, it was painful, but I knew it was going to be when I sold it as an unfinished project. I'm ok with it -- I learned a lot, got my YouTube channel off the ground and monetized, and I stayed occupied and out of trouble while I was stationed 1,500 miles from my wife and daughter.
Thanks
My '87 F350 project is now for sale on eBay with No Reserve. Here's the link in case anyone is interested - https://www.ebay.com/itm/325687885812
I have a lot of $ and time invested in the truck; someone is going to get one hell of a deal.
Here's why I'm selling -
Thanks,
Scott

Trans is already in, along with transfer case and front and rear driveshafts, so really don't want to yank it back out.
Lifting the cab up is an option, but I'd rather not go down that road if I don't have to.
Ok, so I have one of Justin's Stage 1 drop in turbos going in on my 7.3 in my '87 F350. Engine is freshly rebuild, installed in the truck. GP harness is installed as well as hard lines to injectors and R&D billet return rails, but no injection pump. I have the short grommet installed in the...
Your build sounds very similar to mine, but I went with the 90cc pump and I'm not running an intercooler. For details on how I did it, check the link in my signature.
