Not enough meat left after tapping for .5, as in some of the 7/16 threads may still be there in trying to tap, not for lack of block meat, or it may be a stark misunderstanding of me, and it just instead of just going one size bigger go 2 and be done with it?

    IDI 0-60 Times

I can tell you my 0-60 is horrible. 17-19 seconds last time I checked. about the same n/a and turbod. The thing is all of those 0-60 runs have been on a cold transmission, Man mine likes to be warm in order to shift faster, so many of those seconds are eaten up in waiting on the tranny... either...

The only thing with this, and this is from justin and i have not looked into it one bit, but there is not enough meat left in the block to just go to 1/2'' studs, and also the thought is why not go 9/16 and never worry about any problems ever ? and @ISPKI If you want a good proven towing setup...

    Turbo talk

@kent01 I disagree with you there, 6.9 definitely needs studs for even 10-15 psi of boost in my opinion. they have 7/16'' head fasteners that are much weaker than the 7.3's 1/2'' fasteners. A stock turbo ip with a factory turbo or banks turbo will push 15 psi fairly easily. So right there you...

That is the problem that i have heard with people wanting to run hx35 on idis, they are too small for the 5.9 cummins guys so they upgrade to something bigger, now you put that on a 6.9 or a 7.3 and it is way to small. I have heard that the hx40 is closer to what a idi needs, but I would run a...

Depending on how bad your condenser was plugged it might be time to do a new radiator as well and do away with any question of overheating. I know a buddy of mine intercooled his 088 and he also added a ww2 at the same time. He lost no boost, and spool stayed about the same. IIRC his max boost...

    Adding a fuse block?

I run a marine fuse block with constant power and ground to the battery. I use it to power the battery side of my relays.

Ok So I see I am late to the game as it is already 7 pages long, but I am in the same boat as you. Mine wont spin the tires. 285s may have something to do with that, but i have traction bars, and the truck in my sig. Only thing I am worried about is overboosting and lifting a head but still I...

    6.9 Exhaust System

I can tell you mine is super quite. You can have a conversation over the exhaust exit. Slight whistle but that is all. good sound, and loud enough when needed. 3" down pipe 4" exhaust with muffler. diamond eye powerstroke kit. If you are on facebook at all message Michelle N Russell Mathis. His...

    6.9 Exhaust System

I personally would not suggest buying a new banks kit. For less than half the cost @typ4 has factory based kits starting at $1200. That would be a far better spent dollar than on a banks. Nothing against banks but $ for $. If you are set on a brand new kit check out idiperformance.com otherwise...

    Pre engine swap overture

@Chemgrad no I have not done anything like a cam yet. I have studs, gaskets, billet return rails from R&D, a stage 1 cam and stage 1 drop in coming as well, but havent gotten there yet. I did the 226 with just a ats 093 ww2 3" dp 4" exhaust and a intercooler. i have since disabled the...

    Is 50385K83 the only one?

you need 4 or 5 for the whole system but they may be different sized. two at filter housing. Heck i believe there is one down at the fuel pump too. back of the ip, and return line 3-way at the back of the engine.

    6.9 Exhaust System

I personally am not a fan of in front of the wheel dumps, just because imo they are tacky because it makes you look like you cant afford a proper exhaust system. The dynomax one is great, but the problem is the wait time on it. I have heard it being 6 months out, but if you buy individual pieces...

    gear lube test

Found a pretty good comparison of gear lubes, while it may only be 75-90 and 80-90, and does not include 75-140 I think that conclusions can still be drawn, and lots of interesting information is in the study. If you are into reading college thesis style studies it is great, if not you might...

    Pre engine swap overture

If you put the turbo kit on a n/a motor make sure you use a screwdriver and punch holes in the valley pan where the cdr was off the back of the intake. It will save you a lot of headache Also If your up pipe and wye are "frozen" together dont try to remove them. It is dang near impossible to get...

    Electri Lift pump for 90cc?

only the holley can be got through oreillys, but it will probably be special order, thats all I know of. Holley red you dont need a regulator like 100 gph at 7-11 psi. For a bolt on pump I would absolutely run a holley red or even a carter p4070. I forgot about it until now. the walboro 392 is...

    Electri Lift pump for 90cc?

I know pontoonrob and a couple others have had failures with facets. I Have heard good things about holley reds, but then again not as many people run them. I personally am not a fan of the facet, but whatever. "words" On my stage 3 fuel system I fully expect the pump to die in 5 years. That...

    Rear diff cover

except for the fact that the sterling 10.25 specs 85-140, and sterling 10.5 specs 75-140 synthetic. I would think that 80-90 is hard on them because it does not give the proper lubrication I doubt you would see an increase in mpg with 80-90 But I could be wrong. I love to learn!
