    Fuel issues?

Passenger side looking to the front. Drivers side looking to the front. Sorry it’s the best I have. I have found using my phone to take a photo to study before doing helps. Can you NOT remove your doghouse easily? Are you NA or turbo’d? Good luck. You on the western slope right now? I have...

    Fuel issues?

Best I have without going back under there. The IP feed from the filter is in the middle of those lines just out of sight. The same line snakes around and is the steel line covered with rubber for protection and zip tied to the original FF locating stud.

Being in the rust belt, it sounds like you might be fighting an intermittent “break” in the wiring.....? Wish I could be more help. Will be following along until you find the solution.

Our beloved FL1995 oil filter is no longer cheap at Walmart

Whoa, @Goat sent me down the rabbit hole with the Beta numbers. While I’m sure unintentional on his part, my psychotic masochistic mind rubbed it’s hands together with an evil grin!! I think I’ll just drive more and worry less and just buy a filter off the shelf when the time comes. Hopefully...

Our beloved FL1995 oil filter is no longer cheap at Walmart

Anyone know the Walmart fram XG or TG filtering capabilities? Guess I should check their website.... BITOG says 99% at 20 Micron. With the more expensive filter having a synthetic medium. But even at 5k OCI the paper media will serve just fine.

Wait, why didn’t the springs give you more lift. Seems a floor Jack would fit under my stock one...barely. Course my Jack is low profile 3”

    My lonely dark trail

@rreegg I’m a big fan of the E600. My old 2003 ALH Jetta wagon lost its passenger mirror. Somehow did not break, and E6000 held it on for another 3 years before I sold it

    Belt driven fuel pump discussion

There is a post on TDI club where he has over 280k documented miles on ALH TDI, 150k-ish on a ‘99 6.5 cheb and 110k-ish on a ‘06 mega cab. He had no related problems and cites meticulous cleaning and de-watering to his success. And long commutes. I’m excited for you and what you mention...

    Belt driven fuel pump discussion

Now that it is getting cold out, do you just operate on diesel until the circulating oil is up to engine temp, then switch to WVO? Any concerns of the WVO getting into your crankcase over time? Or wreaking any havoc on components just as it did to the needle bearings you used diesel on to free...

Plug block heater into "shore power"?

To piggyback on @u2slow my buddy had some load reader and my block heater draw was 810 watts. Are you planning to leave it plugged in all the time or use a timer?

E4OD IDI transmission with billet converter

@Cubey back-up to prevent your c6 fiasco ;Poke Honestly, I did not look or research, are the rod/cable shift interchangeable? Would you be willing to separate the converter from the trans? My brother’s 50th surprise bday is in Prospect ME, and my mom wants me to bring the van. We would road...

Where do you buy coolant test strips that aren't bad?

To the collective, which is much smarter than me!!! My coolant has been in the system since at least 2003. Has NO contamination, not even a hint of foreign material floating or swirling. Beautiful old green coolant. The PH still reads great. I have no plans to change it until I see...

I did the same on my redneck shed. It’s on pier blocks and now I dream of an entire slab to build everything on. Oh well!!! Let it go (telling myself) and move forth!!!

The original bulbs were OSRAM H7’s in 55w flavor. The new ones in 65w flavor..... Mr Stern made mention that the increased wattage would be fine with factory wiring. But time will tell.

On day shift this time of year, I drive to work in the dark, and I drove home in the dark. 2 days ago coming past “Double RL” Ranch (one of Ralph Lauren’s Tax Evasion strategies) I dang near plowed a big-bodied 4-point Muley deer. Had to come to a complete stop. A year ago I worked...

17 years later I did a compression test

I first learned the flexible hose trick back in 1990 from my dad. We use it all the time when doing spark plugs. Thanks for the heads up about the glow plugs, only makes perfect sense. 17 years isn’t that long!!! I’m just happy to see someone has actually kept a vehicle that long!!!
