    Sticky Throttle

@KansasIDI man I was lucky, when I bought my van had an injector ticking and did the ATF treatment and what not to no avail. Then I was underneath greasing it and low and behold, cracked y pipe right in front of my face. :rotflmao So My wallet chalked that up as a win !!

Check engine light at start up only. Stays on for a few extra seconds sometimes.

Do you just add quality gauges in a separate pod? Or replace the factory cluster? What brand of modestly priced gauges do you prefer? Thanks! @Wrenchmonkey316 glad the oil change helped.

Do you notice it stick more when cold (both engine and air temp) How do you relieve it? Lift the pedal with your foot?

    Tie down hook

Good points, my trailer is nothing nice, and we always used rope to tie down growing up. Cleats were great for that, and loads above the bedsides, like evergreen bushes and green waste like that. I like the metal angle iron cap idea and have day dreamed about it. Then tying it down the sides...

    Tie down hook

@Austin86250 if the doors have glass, I don’t think it’s large enough to break, but I have heard that things with large panes of glass can break it laid flat. My trailer like @IDIBRONCO ’s has had tie downs just like @Nero ’s pickup for over 20 years. Only difference is I put mine in the bed vs...

    E350 / E-350 XLT 1993 7.3 IDI Radiator?

@WMO4IDI if you didn’t re-core yours, was it full of buildup inside? If so, what did you use to clean all the scale out of it? I agree in keeping his original.

    E350 / E-350 XLT 1993 7.3 IDI Radiator?

When you replaced the hoses, did you look down inside the radiator and see how much corrosion buildup you have? I have never fixed my own brass radiator but I like the path you are going down of keeping your existing one and having it repaired and refreshed. That is my plan when I come to that...

    Could this be the solution?

This might be way off base, but could you be collapsing a fuel supply hose at high rpm?

Another E4OD flashing OD light thread

I’m still thinking with you being in the rust belt, the harness is compromised somewhere causing your intermittent completely random limp mode. What about that thread @XOLATEM posted. Great job sticking with it and what you have done so far!!

Nice pickup!!! And thanks @The_Josh_Bear , I have always thought the check engine light on older cars were always emission’s related and of no real value. Boy am I WRONG :dunno And I realize there’s no emissions on an IDI. I’m just thinking about all my OBD1 vehicles.

    Stanadyne Performance formula

Optilube has consistently returned 1-1.5 mpg better mileage when added at minimum dose to all 3 of my TDI’s vs no additives. Doubling the dosage just wasted money. The TDI’s are my commuters and mileage is very repeatable. The van is all over the place and greatly affected by speed and wind...

    Stanadyne Performance formula

Good to hear!! I’ve experienced the delayed ignition and boom all inside my natural gas boiler. NOT fun. Mine was an eaten away swirl plate and funnel piece that didn’t mix the gas and air right. When my optilube runs out, maybe I’ll give stanadyne a go.

@lotzagoodstuff aint that the truth!!! If I EVER turbo mine, it will be a remote mount, prolly with its own oiling system. I don’t notice much for drop in power until I climb grades above 6500’ elevation. Course. I’m pretty light though. But after driving the blue van Cubey bought, wow it was...

Is it turbo’d by chance? Can’t wait to see how you build it. Mine is on the back burner. One piece of advice I picked up from another member here. On these vans the weather stripping at the cowl is split in the middle. Mine loved to drip water right into my vacuum pump’s exhaust. So I took...
