    6.9 high idle not working

Welcome to the forum. You realize you MUST press down on the throttle peddle to make it work. The solenoid is not strong enough to speed up the idle. Also the power it gets comes from the sender located deep behind the thermostat housing. If that plug is disconnected not only will you fast idle...

    FSV tear down.

my guess is the switching from front to rear tank causes this issue because the ftsv has the power flowing thru it when changing tanks.

    Oil Cooler Orings

Very early 6.9 oil coolers had 6 o rings.Three on both ends. they did not work very well so modifications got made and we now use ONLY the 4 o rings on both ends. The 6 ring cooler bundles are no longer sold and I have never seen one offered anywhere.

    Disappearing coolant?

As already posted. Just add UV dye and check engine with a black light. Best way to find distilled coolant leaks.Nearly impossible to find distilled water leaks but...normal well or domestic water leaks will leave behind hard water stains from minerals in the water.

    Memorial Day Plans Ruined

Sadly you will burn up a starter faster when the batteries are low. Low volts means more amps so its more heat. Charge the batteries or you will let the smoke out of the starter...

    Fuel lines

Not a chance of this working ever... Our engines sent about 80% of the fuel back to the tanks thru the return lines. Remember this fuel is used for lubing and cooling the injection pump and the injectors in the heads.

Need some help with a fuel problem

This sounds like a fuel restriction but more info is needed. How many miles are on the injection pump and injectors? How mny miles on the engine too. Many times the rubber fuel line from the frame to the lift pump fails because its always moving with engine vibration. Might try changing it. This...

    Introduction/1994 Ford f-250 7.3 IDI turbo

Welcome to the forum. No real need to change the fuel filter unless you see the dash light telling you it needs to be changed. Really not much to these engines or trucks either. Very simple to keep on the road. With 139,000 miles your engine is barely broken in too. I drive about 5000 miles a...

94 idiT , valley pan gromment

Welcome to the forum. Russ who's sign on name is typ4 has what you need. As a suggestion use a quality rtv on this rubber fitting. Its never going to be seen where it sits. I fill the grommet where it fits in the valley pan. I also use rtv on the turbo oil drain back tube where it fits into this...

    Timing in Seattle?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry you purchased ANYTHING from careless diesel. No matter your issues with your pump from them they will tell you its your fault it wont work because of the way you installed it. Many great members here have been screwed over by them AFTER they installed a faulty pump...

Is this the crank case ventilation hose?

Originally the CDR is found behind the rear of the intake manifold. there is a hole back there. you will need the rubber hose that connects to the CDR and then dumps into the valley pan. I suspect that hole probably is open now because of the hack job picture you posted.

Project: The New CDD Shop Truck

Reason for plugging the 7.3 blocks was thought to be for heat. This heat was to improve the emissions coming out of the engines. EPA standards changed and this was a way to clean up a dirty engine. Then problem was too much heat so our 7.3 ran hotter. Sometimes way more than we wanted.

Please help a new guy out, 6.9l issue.

The atf in a clean fuel filter is a cheap easy way to clean up a sticky injection pump internals. You could just as easily fill the new filter with a quality fuel treatment and run till the treatment is in the injectors and pump.

    Gunk on injector

If this crud wipes off easily then its oil and water leaking down past the threads and its not a problem but... If the bottom copper gasket is leaking and this is hard crud.. Well you probably have a cut injector seat in the head. that will be repaired with a seat reamer. To stop this oil and...

Think I found my fuel starvation issue...

Any chance this engine was from a wrecker truck? May have been rolled around in the back of a truck too. It does look like the case was broken for some time and constant spring action internally it finally finished itself off.

1994 turbo 7.3 idi Injection pump timing

The bottom timing tab tube. The short fat one is the top dead center mark. The kent moore j33300 does not use this port. We use the top tall skinny tube. then rev to 2000 rpm so the internal timing springs return to a normal state.
