I have searched the entire forum for this information so forgive me if it's posted somewhere but is it possible to change our own thread titles and if so how is it done?
Thanks.
Head unit is a BV9986BI.
4 channel 340 watts RMS so probably 100 watts continuous.
My truck is a standard cab so not much space to fill and it's more than loud enough going down the road with the windows down and my worn out 315's howling at 70 mph.
If you want it "LOUD" you'll need an amp or...
I had thought about that but figured I'd check to see it there was some kind of trim ring so it didn't look unfinished. I can be a little OCD at times.
Thanks I probably just do that for now and if it continues to bother me make a trim ring myself.
Next installment.
Tunes.
In short I cannot really tolerate the radio anymore. Even in my car which has radio, satellite, usb, bluetooth I find myself listening to the music on my phone most often.
So since Big Ugly had just a simple old Kenwood CD player that is missing knobs and has an overly...
Yeah sounds like you've got it covered. It's maddening I'm sure. I've been slowly going through your build thread and what a beauty you've built. Nice work.
Hope you have gauge resolution soon.
No my problem was only with the lights on and the dimmer turned up from completely off, or if the vent fan was on full blast regardless of the lights. Strange circumstances to me but the problem went away when the grounds were isolated. And with the lights on I could vary the amount of...
You may have covered this elsewhere but do you have your gauges lighting tied into the dimmer from the dash lights?
If so are you using the same ground for both lighting and gauge power?
I accidentally did that and my EGT (the only gauge wired that way) was all kind of random at times. Isolated...
So carrying on with the rehab on the truck I decided I would fix the A/C today. Well I got too late of a start and noticed I now have a significant fuel leak so switched gears.
After driving the truck today I watched fuel dripping off the back of the engine, down the passenger side of the...
I've found with this truck speed is less of a detriment to mileage than being away from the torque peak. So if I'm in the 1700-1800 RPM (65-70) range I get better mileage than going slower. At least if it's hilly. Flat ground that's not the case.
I'll find a picture. My shop right now is an hour from home as I just moved so I'll get a picture next time I'm there. Or if I can dig one up on google I'll post it here.
Thanks.
Yeah it's the tiny bulb. Not a huge rush right now just wanted to know.
So I guess this is turning into my truck rehab thread.
Bad news the ABS light has decided to start coming on again. Brakes still working well but seems the rear are slow to release after a hard stop. Coincides with the ABS light coming on. I've got all new rubber lines to install so will bleed...
So a little update. Been driving quute a bit this week (600 miles so far) and will be using it again tomorrow to pull a trailer so decided to fill up on my way home. I was running the rear tank and filled it first. 220 miles and it stopped at 8.8 gallons. What? That can't be right. I fill up the...
Yeah the price I saw today on the Scorpions was in line with the Nittos, General, Yokohama's. 50k warranty too. Good to hear they're not disliked by the people running them.
Downside is I didn't see any 16's. Only 17 and larger. But it's that way with alot of the newer tires.
Thanks for the replies and info.
I've got time to decide/look for a deal so it's nice to have your input.
Especially good to hear about the BFG's lack of durability. I've always liked that tire but it appears the KO2 version is not as good as the original. Sad.
Another question open for...
Thanks for the encouragement. I am planning to go for at least a day but my work schedule is so fluid right now I can't guarantee I'll be in town that week. I've heard talk of needing to be in Salt Lake City, Montgomery Alabama and Lake Wales Florida around that time. May be nothing but don't...
Here is where I put my controller.
I made and attached a bracket to the oil dipstick bracket. No need to extend the factory wiring just some creative re-routing. Been there since 08' without issues.
Okay so as the title indicates looking for current tire options.
I realize this a tediuos question and rather newbie in context but I've been out of the loop. Last new truck tires I bought were in 2011.
So currently I'm running the Nitto Terra Grappler in 315-75/16. They've been on the truck...
Well yesterday was another good day for the old monster.
"Shame notice" In my rush to get things sorted on the truck I've been focusing on the glaring issues that have been in my face. I just yesterday checked the transmission fluid and it was low. Oops. In my defense the truck doesn't leave any...
Is your pump turned up at all? Possibly too much fuel for the amount of air causing the high egt's? Would be worse at elevation.
Either way I understand how frustrating that would be.
So upon further inspection my trailer running lights and signals are working properly. Good news.
Today I decided to investigate why my horn wasn't working.
Checked the horn button for power and continuity. All good. 12v at the wheel connection under the steering wheel cover. I then went under...
I would say something is amiss power wise.
Before I turboed my 93' I pulled a 14k (scaled) trailer from Houston Tx all the way to Lynchburg Va.
E4OD w/3.55 gears and 35 inch tires. Yes it was a dog and 65 was about all I could do but I made it without issue. Got down to 40ish on a couple...
