    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Update. As I never received the rear shocks I ordered 3 weeks ago, after much diligence on my part and being ignored by the seller I was able to get a refund on them. So today I ordered them again, from a different seller and actually saved $40 from my original purchase. Should be here next...

    Engine rebuilder in the south.

In your other thread Wes was mentioned. He's in Texas. Pretty close if you ask me plus he eats and breathes IDI. Don't think you'll find anyone closer with his knowledge.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Yeah I really need to do a proper troubleshooting on it. Check the solenoid connector, pull and reset the codes and then see it it's still doing it. Didn't have any shudder when it slipped, and yes I know what that feels like, so it may just be electrical. Hoping that's the case and the clutch...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

So today I drove back home to the Roanoke area from Montgomery Alabama in the truck. Houston we have a problem. While climbing the hills on I-75 heading north from Chattanooga my torque converter slipped while locked up in OD. Then a little later it slipped some more. By the time I reached...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Not mine. Squeaks and rattles just fine.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Yeah the carting of the bike was due to a planned day off and riding with a friend of mine at Croom in Florida. That was a good time. The bike is a Pitster LXR250. They were the Pitster big bikes at the time. It's hard to believe perhaps but that is a great bike for the money. The suspension as...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Well as all good stories go there is some drama. My fronts came in and got installed but Fedex has lost the rears. Were supposed to be delivered tuesday but tracking still has them in Chicago where they've been since last Saturday and no projected delivery date. So essentially they lost them...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Time for another update. Truck did fine the rest of my trip and all the way back to Virginia. Seems the AC was feeling a bit weak towards the end of the trip but with it being 95 outside I figured I probably just needed to clean out the evaporator box as I'm sure it's got junk in there. 2 days...

Stoptech slotted rotors and EBC yellow pads.

While that's all good I am willing to spend the coin on good rotors and pads. In the past 2 months I've needed to make numerous all out stops due to other drivers panicking in front of me. A couple too close calls. I can lock up whats there already just want better modulation and fade...

    E4OD trouble codes

Mines a 93' E4OD equipped truck. I believe it only connects to the transmission computer on these trucks. It actually gave me a few codes numerically but I'd have to look up what they are again. When I first got my truck back it was low on tranny fluid and the codes seemed to be inine with that...

    E4OD trouble codes

Well it told me I had a slipping torque converter? My OD light is dead. Was a code 69 or something. Don't remember exactly at the moment. Comes with a book that has the code list.

Stoptech slotted rotors and EBC yellow pads.

Curious if anyone has any experience with this combination of brake parts together or individually. Looking to replace my front pads and rotors soon and these seem to be a possible solution but they're pricey and I was hoping maybe some of you might have some feedback on them. TIA.

This saddens me. I was never close to Bill but like many here I benefited from his knowledge and wisdom. He will definitely be missed on these pages. Godspeed sir.

    Motorized single DIN lcd stereo?

I'm the guy with the Boss unit. It's only been 2 months but still working fine. I'm also in an OBS and your comment on the dash pad, while true, isn't really a concern since you can space it out easily with the different locking tabs of the stereo mount. Here it is in the dash. One nice...

    2.5" v.s. 3" drum brake difference

Just to muddy it up some more. When replacing my rear wheel cylinders I was able to determine the F250, F350 SRW and F350 DRW wheel cylinders were all different.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Well trip went fine. 879 miles no issues to speak of. Except shocks. Damn do I need new shocks. Loaded up and ready to roll. Truck was content rolling along on the highway. And finally on the other end. All in all was a good trip. Trans temps stayed about 180 with an ambient of 90-95 at...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Things have been going well over here for the past few weeks as far as the truck is concerned. I finally got my new accessory drive belt installed. I broke down and bought another one, not a motorcraft, from the parts store hoping it would fit but it did not. Same issue as the motorcraft belt...

    Engine Oil Changes

That was a huge blow there. I ran the Delo 400le in everything. Trucks, cars, bikes. I ran Delvac 1300 in my truck this last oil change. No opinion of it yet.
