The Blue Donaldsons are great filters. Hold way more crap too before losing flow rate.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Okay more dash stuff. As @IDIoit mentioned in my asking for dash removal help thread the tabs that bolt the OBS dash to the giant aluminum column support bracket are very fragile'. So being as careful as I could removing the dash it was clear those tabs were already in bad shape prior to...

    2019 Rally Convoy

If I didn't have a literal interior project to finish on my truck before the rally I'd add a CB. Just don't think I have time to. If that changes I'll get one in the truck prior to. Makes sense for the drive down. And other times too.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Haha that's funny. Well if you're still using them then they need to stay where they are. Can't have you driving around without brakes.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

I had decided on them a while ago and then while doing some research saw your opinion of them and it sealed the deal so to speak. Disappointed I missed out when you had yours up for sale but I was snoozing.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

As if getting the interior re-installed wasn't enough I threw these in the mix as well. Front brakes. All of it. Hoses are new as of last year so not going to sweat those but everything else is due to be refreshed. Hope I have time to finish it before I leave. If not I'll just install them at...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

So this might be going against the general theme of Big Ugly but I've been searching for a good tailgate for a while. On monday I found one locally after searching CL on a regular basis for the past 6-8 months. Form follows function and all that but in this case the function needed to be...

    2019 Rally Convoy

Ya'll are passing within a mile of my place on I-81. Exit 150 in Virginia just north of Roanoke. I'll join up as you come through if that's alright? You don't want to fill up there however as even though there are a couple stations, one of which is a Pilot, they recently ruined the traffic flow...

    Making a parts run!

Well as luck would have it I just did a local craigslist search for tailgate, same as I've done almost every day for a while and one popped up about 50 miles away. Contacted seller and am going to grab it today. Sometimes just trying to put something in motion is all it takes.

    Making a parts run!

You think you might have room for a tailgate? Asking before I find one. I'll be at the rally all week.

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Next up was fixing this crack on the top of the dash. Same thing use the acetone/abs slurry just fill it and blend it into the dash texture. Guess I forgot to get an after picture. I'm also going to use some fiberglass on the inside ot the crack to add strength there. I did the same thing on...

    Big Ugly goes to rehab

Well it's finally time for an update again. Been working too much this year but the dash is finally out and sitting in my garage. I installed the dash bracket repair kit. And here it is on the dash. Next up fix some of the cracks. Here is the headlight switch area. I tried using acetone...

    Observations, comments, and gripes

That particular ride started in Salt Lake City that morning. Pretty much an epic day.

    Observations, comments, and gripes

I went over Monarch pass a few years ago on this. It was May, I was freezing, and the gift shop literally locked their door as I was about to open it. That sucked. The ride from there into Canon City was great however. Would do it again.

    My 1994 F-350 4x4 CC TD

I hate to say it but you already know. The only time I've had a hazy idle, kind of a grayish color, was a worn IP. Hot start issues as well. Are you running any fuel other than straight diesel? Additives? Seems odd to be going through so many pumps.

    OBS dash removal questions.

Column is dropped. I'm not pulling the aluminum column support. Dash is physically loose. I tried prying it up and I may be able to get it that way but won't have another pair of hands to help again before Saturday.

    OBS dash removal questions.

Back on dash today. Damn good thing I put a 10'x20' easy up over the truck. Every time I get any chance to work on it, it rains. So next question. Dash is by every measure I can tell completely unbolted and ready to come out. Except it won't. Seems something on the very far left side is still...

    OBS dash removal questions.

Okay I got it. Was able to remove the white cable end retainer from the airbox and the cable came off without issue. Didn't break anything somehow. Idiot, thanks for the heads up. Seems every connection point on the dash is brittle at the moment. One of my reasons for taking it out is to...

    OBS dash removal questions.

Yeah done all that. Can't get enough flex in the cable to clear the retainer on the blend door arm. The white cable housing end retainer is what's stopping my success. It's too close for the stiffness of the wire. Feels like I'm going to break off the blend door arm post that the cable attaches...

    OBS dash removal questions.

Thanks. I'll drop the column just not the support. And while I'm good at some things others, mostly involving plastic, tend to give me fits. So how do you remove the blend door cable. I've got the cable housing end loose from the white surround but cannot get enough flex on the cable to remove...

    OBS dash removal questions.

I searched a bunch, read a lot and watched numerous videos and well I still got questions. I've got to pull, repair and re-install my dash before the rally. Due to the situation I'm in I have to do it without removing the big aluminum column support. I'm not on flat ground and need the Ebrake...

    Race Truck Options

I voted street/strip. I can see the allure of going full race however. My .02. Street will allow you more shakedown ability to find the weak links in the chassis without needing a dedicated place for testing initially. Once you've got it solid in the launching department and are approaching it...
