So what did you do with your truck today?

Yeah that’s why I sold my idi truck for towing cause I wouldn’t be able to not look at the numbers and it didn’t add up. Better to not know haha

So what did you do with your truck today?

If you need it dimmable than you don’t want to be on an always hot like the cig light. You would pull the headlight switch and then choose a wire in the circuit that’s hot only when the lights are on so that the gauges dim at night and don’t fry your eyeballs. Clutch pedal return

What’s your thoughts on why you’re not buying a pre-bled kit & heim conversion? It’s relatively low cost compared to other things on your truck but I understand if budget is done.

    Clutch pedal return

When you put a new clutch swing arm on or do a Heim joint mod you adjust the swing arm to take any slack out of the clutch master rod to pedal assembly. It sounds like your describing trying to compensate for a different issue using that. What I’m understanding from your posts is you have a...

    Chronic repeated mouse/rat problem

I have white footed mice on my property and they do not like the peppermint oil. I spray it all in the wheel wells and frame and throw a bag in a truck when it has to sit. Idk if you have ant traps in the van, but I recently had mice where I didn’t previously and it turned out that something in...

Low vacuum warning switch: needed for HVAC?

Off the top of my head the vacuum was just for the blend door and the rest was mechanical driven. You can move the blend door by hand. I don’t pay too close attention to this area of this gen trucks because on my projects I delete a/c and just run defrost.

7.3 fuel filter head and lift pump fittings

Adding a note that those are not direct interchanges. Dorman 785-408 does not have enough threads to properly seal. I happen to have had it laying around and tested it on one of my engines. If you’re looking for a parts store fitting you can use needa 563953 which is carried by autozone...

    Cold timing advance problem

I use rubber too, no leaks torqued to spec. I just happen to have cork ones I tried and threw them away. Did not like them. That’s why I asked.

    Cold timing advance problem

I caveat that I only post what I know from hands on experience and I’ve never disassembled a pump yet. That said, below is the theory that was explained to me. Fuel goes in the cone, enters the vane style transfer pump which bumps total hydraulic pressure based on speed (and bleed, but that's...

    Cold timing advance problem

I know we spoke about the technical details in my thread Nero. It’s simple to replace the check valve. We could also probably run no check valve and adjust accordingly like the big pumps. I don’t think it’s many degrees that the housing pressure drop results in.
