Another lift pump lets me down.

I agree with all of this this. The key to IDI return systems is to minimize pressure in the return system and minimize flow quantity through the caps. This shouldn’t need to be said but I also see return hoses that look like snakes all the time. That is putting incorrect pressure “lift” on the...

    Turbo Install Questions

If it was me I’d be taking the engine back out. Also to heat shield the firewall after sledging it. I give heat and shielding a decent amount of thought. Not to say you couldn’t do it with the engine there. Did you already bolt the trans on if I recall? That can disuade from pulling the engine.

87-91 F Series Headlight Connector Replacement and Relay Mod

Two things I wanted to share in this video: 1. I’ve seen a number of trucks now that have the headlight connector spliced when needing to be replaced. If your terminals are in good condition, you can quickly and cleanly replace just the connector with no splicing. At time of this post this can...

Another lift pump lets me down.

It’s belt driven and similar to the GDP link. I should have a detailed video together within a month. I’ve got quite a few sticks in the fire. Question for you guys, if you had to give up one accessory, would you give up AC (I know this will differ depending on area of the country) or vacuum...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I like the mag pickup. Did you watch my video? I also added a pinned comment not too long ago about needing to change the pulse if you have newer style coated ip lines.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Ordered OEM glow plugs from a reseller that I previously bought from and confirmed genuine. Guess what showed up? Reproductions. They are going back tomorrow.

Shift boot for my '93 IDI with ZF5?

This is what I used. Pretty sure it’s the same as you posted but wanted to note B vs BA. You mentioned it’s for an OBS. Also don’t think that would matter cause it mounts flush. On my one truck I took a ZF-S47 from an OBS truck and put it in a bricknose truck. Used that shift boot assembly above...

So what did you do with your truck today?

there’s a balance between “everything was better in the past” versus “the good stuff survived” .. those tombstones were built to be and were top of the line. That’s why they are still around. Like IDI cavitation, my concerns are low when I hear a good running one or can tell it was maintained...

Borg Warner 1356 Transfer Case Rebuild

It’s equiv to manufacturing “rtv black” / dealer. You aren’t going to wait 24 hours to roll to the next station or to move the customers car out of the bay. “The right stuff” is immediate return to service.

Borg Warner 1356 Transfer Case Rebuild

It will come apart pretty easy with aviation because it stays tacky. The right stuff is much stronger bond.

Borg Warner 1356 Transfer Case Rebuild

The right stuff Thread sealants aside, there’s only two sealers I use on the truck / engine and it’s relatively to international spec. Aviation permatex on coolant facing flush mount surfaces (IE, oiler cooler, front plate, water pump) and the right stuff everywhere else. If I see anything...

    Headlight Dimmer Switch Issues

do you have the circuit to post for 92 Franklin? I have up to 91. Homeless - I was saying when atleast up to 91 there is a relationship between pulling out the headlight switch “marker vs on vs on” and the always on feed from the fuse box. It’s all unkeyed up to 91 and I’m sure it’s unkeyed in...
