19 gallons on the trails last forever. 19 gallons on the highway with an IDI, usually a passenger has to use the bathroom before the truck has to use a station.
You’re triggering a relay it requires very little amp. Go as small as you want with the fuse. 10a is fine. Short to ground will pop it in no trouble if it occurs.
I like where the 19 gallon f series tank is sitting now with the bronco. Frame support move seems like it was meant to be. I then took 5 pieces of scrap metal from the pile and started making the tank shield. Ran out of welding wire. To be continued tomorrow.
I’m fab’n a 19g f350 tank tucked up in the rear of the bronco for off roading, you mentioned precarious places. Maybe an idea for you if it’s an off road rig.
I’ve bought and returned the 40 dollar ones before that had the hex crimp, sold as motor craft genuine and showed up in a letter envelope completely blank with some Chinese letters.
China can make higher quality stuff. When you engage them for contract you set the quality control standards...
For the rear, I want an f350 19g tank to bolt in. I looked at a bricknose f series frame, measured and the bronco frame and it’s almost as if ford just chopped the f series frame short for the bronco. I air hammered out the rear frame cross member rivets and moved it about 4” to the rear which...
I’ve also never bought a single vehicle sight unseen that the seller was honest, so I don’t do that to other people. As an example, the bronco project the used car dealer swore it was a slight trans leak. Guess what when it was unloaded across the county? 460 rear main seal leak and have to pull...
Thanks, the truck I’m selling is rock solid. I would drive it back and forth across the country multiple times without hesitation. I’m just harder on it in the description because I rather exceed people’s expectations than disappoint. It pretty much checks all the boxes except I don’t put...
I’m still running IDIs via demo derby and off roading, just not as a tow rig. Thanks.
There’s also nothing wrong with this truck. I just need something newer and DRW for what im doing.
The T04Z truck was great for experimenting with “bolt ons” and some mild fabrication. I want to experiment further than that with the IDI. I do demo derby and off roading as my primary focuses for fun. I’m in process of switching things around, T04Z truck and Caddy will go to a new home. I need...
Thanks man. I have room but don’t like seeing things sit. After long drives, PA, VA, up to pocono mountains, back all within days I am confident this truck could be a DD.
I needed to fit the f350 diesel core support on the bronco but I had an open c-channel homemade RSK on it that was in the way. I cut the C-channel and then triangulated it and welded the seams of the hanger brackets. I think it should do and may even be stronger than before. Testing will tell.
This is a bricknose truck right? If you’re open to it just put it on push button. I’ve had 4? Bricknoses I put each one on push button they all break the same way either in the ignition switch or actuator.
We got 6th out of 23 a couple weekends ago. Not bad. You can never do everything and something always has to take you out. Didn’t loop the trans lines and turned into a fireball. Restarted but was stuck in 1st with no line pressure.
I think very few people would disagree that Justin is the leading expert when it comes to machining / building IDI engines in non stock configurations. If he is confident than I would personally trust him. There is a dwindling amount of machine shops that do IDI work and count on less than one...
