DB2 Pump doesn't respond to full throttle

Also, you timed it with a timing tool right? Not just lined up the marks?

DB2 Pump doesn't respond to full throttle

Did you verify the timing gear is meshed the same way it was before? Could be a tooth off?

    Injector pump no return

If the flex ring starts coming apart would you be able to find pieces of it in the return fitting on the pump? I've been wanting to pull that return fitting on mine to check but didn't want to ruin any difficult to find seals.

Looking for a coolant jug/washer fluid jug for my 87 IDI

@IDIBRONCO Man that's a good looking piece. If I wasn't so cheap i'd have to get me one of those. I ended up going @1mouse3 direction since you can get these pretty cheap even today. It's not my best fab job but it does look like a Ford part...I kind of just modified the original bracket and...

Looking for a coolant jug/washer fluid jug for my 87 IDI

I was actually thinking about doing this since they still make these aftermarket and BOTH my washer and coolant jugs are total junk. When you mean runs dry is this when you've topped it off when hot? I really like those aluminum CCD jugs but thats a little more than I wanted to spend. I have...

Our beloved FL1995 oil filter is no longer cheap at Walmart

Man, I remember when these were $10 bucks or under. Looks like it won’t be cheap from here on out boys! If they're still cheap where you’re at buy them up!

    Reconsidering my RV setup

I don't blame you either for wanting to get something more economical that you can live in. I had a truck camper (medium size 1987 Lance) on my 1984 single cab T19 4x4 IDI w/banks. Man I loved that thing. It was kinda sketchy driving that thing on the highway with semis blowing me all over...

Injection Pump slowly dying-running rough-sluggish, but high mpg.

I'd check the timing and make sure that's correct. It only took 1 degree (8*BTDC) for my truck to feel noticeably slower. It's NA but once set at 9ish degrees it felt much better. Mind you my injectors and IP are both pretty tired but don't show signs of stopping.

    Cheapest wmo setup

My good friend Mark had a 2v 5.4 and he drove it everyday to work in CA as a glazier. Bought it from a used work truck lot for about $1200. It had 150k, SCLB, no AC, white, bare bones. Only major problem if you call it that was a bad fuel injector after 10 years of driving it. His only...

    Revive old batteries?

I'd start by charging them full and doing a load test on them to see which ones are better and more likely to be saved since you have an extra set of Duralasts. What are the date codes on them?

    7.3 idi knock

Not trying to thread jack but I just tried this today on my truck. I have a similar situation with what sounds like a single hammering injector that I can hear very clearly when standing 20ft infront of the truck. Once I start cracking injector lines loose it's very difficult to trace it with...

    Idi vs super duty

If money isn't a problem and it's purpose is to tow heavy i'd look into the Superpoopy. I never did but that's because I didn't want to spend that much, I like cheap diesel parts, and I wasn't hauling heavy. The prices seem to have gone down but i'm sure there in the age of "well worn" as well.

    Cheapest wmo setup

I'm going to start mixing some WMO in my truck here soon. I'm currently only running the rear tank with good diesel @4.30 a gallon. I just purchased a Racor knock off filter w/ water separator. Added a 2 micron filter they sell and bought a little low PSI fuel pump. Total was around $108...

    Trade trucks?

Before you unload her I'd definitely give the tire pressure adjustment a go. Lots of 2000 era trucks had "softer ride" tire pressures for when you're unloaded. Heck, i've even seen some cars like that. My 1991 Volvo turbo wagon w/3rd row reverse seating was like that (29 front/rear and the...

    6.9 7.3 oil consumption?

I've had a similar situation. Drive it short distances like to and from the grocery store/grab beer (doesn't really get up to temp) seems to black/burn more oil. Almost 3-4 quarts in only a few hundred miles one time. Then i'll tow mild for a few hundred miles and no real change in oil usage...

    Number 8 keeps dripping

Some of my aftermarket caps leaked. They were about .010" bigger on the inside that compressed the O-rings. Specifically the ones that were the 90 degree turn ones. I ended up going back to a mix of old caps and new ones that measured correctly. Took me three tries of doing the O-rings...

    New R&D injectors

I agree never assume the gauge in these trucks are accurate until you verify. I've had them accurate on one but not the other. (speedo is off by 10-15 but odometer is accurate or visa versa) I always try to use a GPS method or just the Google Maps/Apple Maps route I took to get exact mileage...

    New R&D injectors

From the sounds of it it's running WAY more efficiently. Let us know if the fuel economy numbers jumped up when you get around to driving it a decent distance. I'm in the market for some injectors and R&D sounds like it's the way to go.

    One rear brake locks up

I had a similar issue with my old truck that did that. A wheel seal went out and soaked it in gear lube/brake dust. I did a new rear wheel seal and cleaned it all out. It had a large Lance camper on is back and it was dry outside so I never noticed the lockup until I sold the camper and...

    Probably bad DMF?

Man, if only those ZF5's had an inspection cover you could remove to check the flywheel springs. It would be cool if you could drill a hole is something none structural and look with a borescope. I did this with a cheap amazon USB borescope connected to my laptop (huge screen) and was able to...

    Probably bad DMF?

Man, how did I never think of that for reinstallation? Dowel's for the win! Sometimes it would just fall back together and others would take an hour of wiggling with some of the bolts started before it slid in.

Source for new negative battery cables

Yeah, I like to call that battery STD's. Kinda like crabs for batteries. It gets us all eventually. I usually hit my freshly cleaned battery connections with this red battery spray stuff. It'll probably give me cancer but then again i've been huffing brake clean for almost 15 years now on...
