Finally got around to testing, and then replacing the glow plugs.. 4 stuck.

Brian, I'm with you. That was the same exact deal with me. I can afford this vehicle and I can work on it. Sometimes I'm just frustrated by just how much I have to work on it. Yeah that is what I was thinking, I was really pleasantly surprised. No one has any issues with me filling the fuel filter with Seafoam, right? I kinda think of that stuff as being snake oil but thought I could give it a try.- MJGenay

Finally got around to testing, and then replacing the glow plugs.. 4 stuck.
Alright so unfortunately it caught almost immediately while Lindsy was cranking (no pedal) and I was depressing the Schrader valve... even though it was about 30 degrees out. It shot fuel initially and then as soon as it caught it seemed to reduce the fuel flow, not sure if that is normal or not...- MJGenay

Finally got around to testing, and then replacing the glow plugs.. 4 stuck.
Will do so today. I'm going to first have Lindsy crank over the engine while I release the Schrader valve to see if I get any air out. I'll report back on that. Then I'm going to take it to town, buy a new fuel filter incase I'm maybe getting air intrusion around the rubber o ring on the filter...- MJGenay

Finally got around to testing, and then replacing the glow plugs.. 4 stuck.
Alright, well I just let it sit for about 3.5 hrs. I went over everything forwards of the FSV and I can't find any evidence of fuel leakage. I turned it on, it started right up, and ran fine for about 30 seconds, good throttle response. Then I started getting that damn rattle again. Turned it...- MJGenay

I think it might've been leaking at the nut. Unknown, pulled it all apart, replaced O rings, put it back together, drove it to a job site, worked a few hours, just drove it back home. It stuttered a bit (very little) after I turned it on and started driving it back but that cleared up after...- MJGenay

Okay, I'll give it a go tomorrow morning with the shrader after it sits. I didn't fix that leak at the injector under the filter, its damp again. I'm pretty sure that leaking cap has been solved. I turned the truck on for 30 seconds and saw no evidence of fuel coming out. I'm going to go take it to town and back and see what happens. Assuming I still have a leak, any pointers on fixing that? I'm assuming there aren't any o rings in there...- MJGenay

There is a bit of surging if I try to drive it when it is doing that, but more of a lack of power than any uncontrollable acceleration. Like the surge is more like the engine slows than the engine takes off. So far I've replaced the o rings on all of the injectors where the return caps were...- MJGenay

Okay. I'll have to order some of those Viton o rings so I have them on hand. Replaced the o rings on the leaky ones. Ran like hell upon start up for a few minutes, eventually I drove away and that seemed to clear up the issues. I have it parked outside so I'll give it a go tomorrow and see what...- MJGenay

Okay well after reading all of that I have no idea what my issue is I have a crank of a few seconds (1-5) when it hasn't been run in a day or more, then she'll fire up. A few seconds later she starts rattling all to hell, sounding like a misfire or I don't know what. I kinda assumed that was air...- MJGenay

Yeah, per the multimeter it was pushing the voltage to the relay, everything read correctly voltage wise. I'm not sure if it is possible to, or if it is I don't know how, to read amperage with that. There are some other fuse links by that passenger battery. They don't seem to be in ideal...- MJGenay
