Here is a simple cheap mod that will turn your low beams on with your high beams on 03 and newer GM trucks.
Here are the pictures. The diode is covered in heat shrink. It is a 1N4001 and can be picked up just about anywhere. I am not sure off hand which relay is high and which is low so I...
I agree Duke. All vehicles should have that. We have Heated mirrors bit not heated wiper grids. Who cares what is behind me if I can't see out my front window!
I see wabasto now makes a heating system to heat the windshield washer fluid. Apparently once you have it you can't lived without it.
I just want to add that the best way to thank us is to invite people over here and get people active in the site. The most rewarding part of running a site like this is seeing it grow.
Ob was built as a hobby site designed to show the other diesel sites that a forum could discuss diesels and have fun at the same time. I'd say we've done a good job of that. A lot of the other sites seemed to uptight.
I try to give my mods, admins and members as much input as possible on...
I do agree the IDI guys are holding the site up. The problem is that it would take a lot of work to organise and keep track of all the individual forums like asked. I could make a one time change but I can't imagine doing it every time something changes.
Thanks guys. It's not really my site, it is our site. Everyone here is responsible for making oilburners what it is.
I owe each and every one if you a big thanks.
I've probably put over 100 hours in over the last week doing the forum upgrades and the server upgrades.
Once that is done, maybe 10-20 hour per week for myself.
Lots of the moderators and a lot of the Admins put in a lot more time then that.
Brian and Mike probably put in 100 hours...
Cool! It could take a bit for the DNS to reach everyone but it will work shortly if it doesn't already.
I bet we're the first WAP enabled Diesel site! :D
Then dns has reached me here. Let me know if this works. IT uses a redirect so I am not sure if that works with WAP or not.
If the oilburnes.net/wap works so will the the wap.oilburners
Thanks
You will have to wait for the dns change to take effect. It could take up to 48 hours but most likely it will only take an hour or two.
Then you can go to http://wap.oilburners.net/
Let me know if there are any bugs although I don't think I know enough about wap to fix them anyways. :(
I haven't decided yet but in the mean while try one of the suggestions above. They work very well and they work on all forums not just this one. Very handy.
I'll think about it. It's a pretty major hack. The biggest problem with hacks is that they are lost every time the VB software is upgraded. That really limits how often I will upgrade. But I will think about.
IeSpell works really good as mike suggested.
I have added vBGarage to our forums. You can go into your User CP and click on Edit vBGarage. There you can enter information about your truck and also upload pictures of it.
Members can then click on vBGarage in the overhead navigation and click on your name. They will then be able to...
