    Pipe thread is sealed by the threads being tapered, and you use either thread tape or ptfe sealant on them. If it's truly npt those washers wouldn't work because the taper will keep the shoulder on the plugs from sealing against the filter head. NPT is on the left, your plug is on the right...

    I don't see how you managed to use 1/4 hose on anything on the supply side, as the nipples are all much larger then 1/4" IIRC. That'd be like stretching your ******* over a pie plate unless the hose you used isn't braided/reinforced.

    That might be because your average temps are lower then here. I've only ever seen it in summer or late fall. I assume like the algae on a pond it doesn't grow when it's cold. I also assume it's only growing in a tank above ground. Fuel tanks that are buried probably won't have an issue.

    Okay, no issues with it then. You can try it. But I'd have the factory vacuum sensor some where in the system so you will know it's not keeping up. 2 micron is a pretty tight filter to pull through.
