    She eats glow plugs

We have a Doberman and I take her as many places as I can. I have come out to the truck on several occasions to the brake lights on and her curled up against the pedals. She doesn't do it as much anymore now that she is full grown. hard to get all 90 pounds of her down in there these days...

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

You dont do anything? I know you live on a pretty tight budget, how do you even have a budget then? It does sound nice, cruising around visiting places without having to worry about a job.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I love flat beds. My utility bed is more useful for my line of work, but if I didnt have it I would have a flat bed. I love the way your truck looks just the way it is, but that looks sharp too.

    Lift pump mechanical or electrical?

I believe that is the one that Wes really likes. Its either that one or another Walbro that he recommends on his builds.

    Air Intrusion Question

Quite a few people swap out the mechanical pump for an e-pump. it can aid with hard starting due to air intrusion. although you should fix the air intrusion instead of masking it. also if the mechanical pump fails it can fill your crankcase with fuel. not super common but it happened to me. I...

    Air Intrusion Question

They dont control the prices directly, but their and the majority parties policies definitely have major affects on prices of everything. Just look around and you can see that. shutting down pipelines and drilling is not going to make the price go down. Was Trump a perfect president? nope not...

    Air Intrusion Question

I think so too. I am going to run it down and see if i can recreate the symptoms. If I can then I will just keep it full, until I can get a free weekend to drop the tank and take a look inside. Is that the truth?!! The pump shuts off at $100, and I get about 3/4 of a tank now. We pay right...

    Air Intrusion Question

Thanks for the replies. Farmer rock i have replaced the entire fuel system. new tank, pick up, electric pump, filters and lines all the way to the engine. Thats part of why this kinda caught me off guard, with it dying like that. All my connections are dry, from tank to Ip. I dont have a...

    Air Intrusion Question

I am getting a significant amount of air intrusion all of a sudden. When I start it after sitting for a while it will start right up then die, even giving it fuel I cant keep it alive. Then it takes a bit of letting the fuel pump run and cranking to get the air out of the line so it will start...

    The Drool Bus

cant wait to see this project keep moving. I have never seen a bus like that before. did some one chop it down in the past or is it really that short? doesnt give you a lot of room to camp in it? are you more thinking of hauling people and sleeping outside in tents?

    Trustworthy repair shops in OR?

i cant offer any ideas on who to take your truck to, but reading through the thread i saw you used Oregon Fuel injection. If I recall correctly I believe there has been a few members who have had problems using their IPs and injectors. I could be wrong, but the name seems to ring some bell in...

Truck is running great, but won’t drive

Just another WAG. maybe the clutch is so worn out it is slipping? it has a enough friction to turn the wheels in the air, but once the weight of the truck is on it, it cant move the truck. no idea just throwing things out there. i cant wait to see what it is.

Can my idi run safely with a glow plug heating element in the precup.

gotcha. yeah my idea wont work then. that's a pretty big piece stuck in there to be able to see it like that. I don't see a way to get it out safely with out taking the head off.

Can my idi run safely with a glow plug heating element in the precup.

If I am reading it correctly, you can grab the broken tip but cant get it out. if you can get the tip to wedge itself in the hole so that it doesn't fall down into the precup, one thing you could try is put that injector back in, leave the other ones out, put a towel over that broken glow plug...

The ol gal is billowing smoke... Help

Since you mentioned the truck sitting for awhile, it may help cut the blowby down a little by just taking the truck out and driving it hard. these engines love to work, so hook some weight up to it and go drive up and down some hills. obviously you dont want to over heat the engine or get the...

Fuel tank filler neck hose removal.

I may be a little late, but i cut that whole thing out. took out the entire inner hose, JB welded a fitting near the top of the filler neck and one at the top of the tank and ran a separate vent hose. I can fill up at full speed with one of the big rig pumps. you can really here the air coming...

7.3 swapped, turbo not installed. Should I leave it alone?

having driven both, Turbo is always worth it. if its just a stock turbo that's not pushing too much pressure you should be fine for many miles with out hurting a thing. get an egt gauge and enjoy the power!!
