    I can always get at ujoint strap bolts with a socket and wobble extension. Might have to clock the shaft around for better angle though. The straps and bolts can be bought at rockauto or wherever you buy ujoints.

    Are the little ujoint cap 'stopper nubs' still in the yoke? If not, the caps will work themselves out. Is there fore/aft endplay in the trans? (Pull yoke in and out) Is the d/s support bearing inline with the trans and pinion? (Laterally) I suppose the shaft is bent now... but was it already...

    That part I'm confident will be fine. I had a suburban I geared to 3.21 with the Sm465. (6.2 diesel though). 1st gear was most often used to start. Syncro doesnt matter because its pointless to downshift into 1st.

    Thats the NP440 aka a833. More like a car trans. Only 3.09 1st gear. https://www.dieselhub.com/trans/np440.html The NP435 has a 6.68 1st... and i don't mind using 1st on these HD 4spds. Oh well, no rush for this; just spitballin' and pondering ;burnout

    Hmmmm.... 35" is probably 315/75R16 and actually 34"? Lookin at an rpm chart, I'd have to get down to a 28" tire to match that. 400ci and 31's is what i had in mind.

    Curious of anyone has/had a 4x4 with 3.07 diffs, and a grunty 4spd? Was it truly pathetic? Or tolerable? What gas engine? Kind of trying to decide how to best use my Dana 61/71 axle pair. (Dodge)

    Lots of 6.6L engines made.... Ford, dodge, chevy (sbc & bbc), pontiac, olds, buick. Mitsubishi diesels too. The 403 Olds firebird sounds like a 78/79+ thing to backfill as the pontiac motor was phased out.

    They can fail, destructively. Also use a small diameter clutch lining... 11" maybe. Edit: dual mass flywheel used to be very costly to replace. Not sure whats its like nowadays.

    I recommend single mass conversion. LuK and southbend were the only ones i knew of.... 15 years ago.

    It is my experience that leaving out the friction modifier helps get some grip back (used trac and powr loks). Been doing so for 20 years.

    Also get a solid pinion spacer. Makes the setup easier, and stronger in the end.

    This why I dislike duals - not much tire size options. Toyo M55 is a very rugged tire. Also available in the 255 with a heavy capacity.

    You said you dont tow heavy. Do you still have the factory pickup box? I'd probably choose a lighter spring for comfort, and supplement with an airbag if your needs change.

    I would be very surprised if you cannot get a 220-240v block heater. Check Temro and Hotstart. Another trick is to gang two 120v elements together in series. Edit: batteries, cables, glow plugs, and starter will need to be top notch in the cold.

    Cab & chassis springs dont fit a pickup. Pickups need 3" wide leafs, not 2.25".

    I would buy a pair with a weight rating suitable for your usage. The fit is the same for f250/350 so long as its for a pickup. Cab & chassis springs are different (narrower).

    99-04 F450/550 are 8x225mm. Afaik, its a mix of Dana 80 and Dana 135s. 4.88 and 5.38 ratios. 05+ is 10x225mm.

    I suppose so. They would be 19.5" instead of 16". The axle is most likely a Dana 110 with 4.88 gears. With a dana 60 up front, it would he a matter of converting the 8x6.5" to 10x225mm.
