I always thought it must have been some pre production test truck as well.
Also had an early 93 door date f250 with a 7.3 powerstroke in it that I worked on. Looked very clean and original, could have all been swapped in there I guess, but this was in 96 or 97, so probably unlikely.
The bellhousing is the weird part for sure. I had that truck apart, bell was un modified, aluminum and diesel bell pattern.mechanical linkage with no ears for the slave on the bellhousing.
Had no idea they did the 3.8 in those. Been around so many, and the salvage yard we use to have had hundreds of those trucks, never saw a 3.8 in one.
Have seen an 82 with a 6.9 in it though. Pretty weird truck. Had mechanical clutch linkage with no spot on the bell for hydraulic. Pretty rare...
Yes, my point was is that in my experience, bigger winches pulling a load that a smaller winch is capable of, draw more than the smaller winch doing so. And almost always are slower, meaning they are drawing more over a longer time to do the same work.
I wonder what that winch draws? I have no experience with that winch, but my experience with big winches. (16k warn) is that they draw more amps, even with no load, and they are slow, meaning they draw more for longer to do the same work as the smaller winch.......but the bigger one can pull...
Cool, thanks for posting these.
What got me thinking about this, is I have been watching alot of power driven diesel you tube. They seem to really enjoy testing different combos and looking for constant improvement at all power levels and truck uses. Seems like so many places just sell the...
I guess I was meaning more the guys selling these parts.
Seems like the parts would sell themselves if they had some numbers behind them. Like the turbo "upgrades" prove it.......
With these higher mm3 pumps, better injectors, and turbo upgrades that are now being sold, is any of this stuff being dynoed?
Have never seen anything posted ( maybe its on some other social platform?).
Even open diffs will lock up like that if you one wheel peel them hard enough. Be interesting to see if it was a partially dis engaged type failure or just over sped the carrier internals.
I realize they are completely different. With both using the same compressor housing and same intake hat, doesnt the cartridge have to be in the same location? I have one somewhere, I will try to find and mock up.
I hate dealing with that stupid hose on the 085.
