    Yea.... I've heard many a comment that Ford didn't have a diesel until 94....... nope, sorry... try 1983..... I've owned more than 1 IDI.... but currently the only Ford Diesel I own is my 03 6.0PSD..... owned it for 15 years, and counting.

    The Z resistor will get hot during operation. Is the plastic cover still over the relay? If not, you could be shorting across the 2 big lugs of the relay with the throttle cable, causing it to melt……..

    My guess is the 99-03 7.3's are the same way... but..... My 03 6.0, the instrument cluster and the radio will drop out at ~9 Volts...... the engine still runs at that voltage.... not sure when it drops out.... Had an alternator die a few miles from home. I made it home... so it will run...

    Holley "white box" pump is cheap!

    My guess is it’s built to Holley’s specs by another manufacturer, and maybe a “lesser” warranty. I know in my line of work, they make “white box” devices that run the same software as the name brand equipment, but the hardware is not made by the name brand company.

    Not 100% but from what I have read, basically the Early 99 7.3 is "same" as the OBS PSD, and the Late 99 is the "same" as the 2000-2003 PSD. Remember, Ford made a "99" Model year truck for all most 2 years.. The 99 came out in early 98. The last OBS which was just the F-2/350 was a 97...

    I believe the 86 Model year (end of the Bullnose trucks) was the last year for the T-18/9 4 speed. Somewhat unrelated, but i think 89 was the 1st year for the E4OD…. We had an 88 that was a C-6. Allegedly, you could option a C-6 up into the 90’s sometime… but I have never seen one…..
