Why do my radio's keep going out?
It could also be a non-electrical issue... These trucks vibrate a lot, from the diesel engine to the somewhat "harsh" ride... Electronics don't lie vibration.... and may be failing due to that, not anything electrical.- snicklas

driveshaft shenanigans
You know… now that you say this, I wonder if that is what happened on my Infiniti……. At less than 130k all the driveshaft U-Joints have needed replaced. They were the factory sealed, non-grease able units… but it has 4 wheel independent suspension, so the diffs are bolted to the chassis on both...- snicklas

This is why I am loooking at the style with he expanded metal “mesh” style tailgate. My neighbor has one that the ramp folds and is not very tall… but that adds $$$. one thing that helps me a bit is I tow with a big SUV (Excursion) or the F-150 with a topper… so the little trailer is behind...- snicklas

This is the same one that I have… I like how it works…. I’ve had it in 2 trucks… my 2000 Durango, and it now lives in my 2003 Excursion. When we get another camper, this is what the Excursion will be using to control it. I plan on adding the Ford Factory controller to the F-150 when the time...- snicklas

Recommendation for refurbished EEC
Not sure where to get one.. but to help in you search Ford called this a TECA - Transmission Electronic Control Assembly…. It just uses an OBD1 or Ford EEC-IV reader.- snicklas

Dad and I collect IH Cub Cadet tractors… and we now have 10 IH Cub Cadets…. They are all runners… and workers…. They work year around…. Dad still mows with his 782… and we push snow, till and moldboard plow gardens….. move stuff around…. Last year I swapped mowing duties to my brand new...- snicklas

Brad, Yes, Dad and I try to keep up on our stuff… LOL. That is a Cronkite that my late uncle had custom built. It is the heaviest trailer he could get without brakes (not sure why he didn’t want one with brakes), so it has a legal max weight of I think 3000 or 3500 lbs. it tows really nice...- snicklas

1999 F350 automatic hubs
If it is and ESOF Truck (Electronic Shift On the Fly) then yes it would have vacuum/manual lockouts. If it does have ESOF and you change from 2 wheel to 4 wheel, or vice versa... does you HVAC switch to the defroster? That is a sure sign of a vacuum leak in the system.. in this case the hubs...- snicklas

I understand that… My son just picked up a 94 PSD 250 4x4… and I agree…. There needs to be more gears…. Seems like 1-3 go by really quick, 4th isn’t quite right… and 5th is a bit too high… or low.. you also have to wind them all out, or you are in 4th at 35 MPH…. Re-wire rear door windows
Factory power windows in all 4 doors of a Crew Cab wasn’t available until 96 or 97….. Every CC pickup with power windows has 2 power (front doors) and 2 crank (back doors) so what you are describing is how Ford would have built a 94 with power windows….. Truck won't start with new starter/starter solenoid
Has it rained since the last time it ran, and the trying to start and just getting a clunk? Have you check battery voltage? Does all the rest of the electrical seem to work fine?- snicklas

Why are posts not editable?
@Clb I believe there was a timer placed on the posts for how long they were editable. We have had some instances of people going in an modifying posts to be difficult, or place things back in that we have edited due to unacceptable content. So what did you do with your truck today?
I had a 2000 Dodge Durango, the first, rounder body. It had the 360 V-8 in it. It would get 15ish, empty, on my mixed commute. What have your done with your interiors?
If you go with carpet, get something like a WeatherTech Floorliner.... I have them in my SuperCrew and you pull the liner out and the carpet looks like new......- snicklas

How do y’all like to shift your ZF5’s?
For me, the ZF we had, (92 - F-250, RC 2wd 3.55) always seemed to shift more like a bigger truck (medium duty) transmission than a passenger vehicle transmission. More of a throttle off, clutch, chunk......... chunk............ chunk, clutch on, throttle on instead of throttle, clutch...- snicklas
