Farmer Rock's crew cab and 12 valve swap....

Last month has been ridiculous. Haven't had time to do anything, and I need to catch up on a few ASAP kind of projects. I did manage to find a deal on a factory short dually bed of an 08 6.4. Don't mind the piece of junk under the bed, lol. I couldn't tie up my daily right now, so used the parts...

    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

My 93 had a bad support when I bought it. I couldn't find anything completely rust free, so I bought one that had a rusted out tray and the top half was excellent. My old one was opposite, so I cut em' both in half and welded them. Like brand new afterwards. Rock

    Time to defeat my FSS?

The valve right under the IP top cover. Why are you running 10psi? That's over twice a stock lift pump. I don't know what all you have done to the engine as far as timing and mods, but that's gonna mess up your timing a bit. Like I said before, the only reason for premature failure, is leaving...

    Time to defeat my FSS?

This one's a pacbrake brand just to give an example. The simplest way to do this though, would be to make your own kill cable. All it has to do is push the metering valve. Rock

    Time to defeat my FSS?

You absolutely need some kind of shutoff from the cab. If something stupid happens like your clutch goes out, you're gonna have to start ripping off fuel lines. Just sounds like a recipe for disaster. And not that an fss is going to stop a runaway, but I can definitely see the chances of a...

    back prime the fuel system?

Stick a compressed air line(blow gun) in the fuel fill, and stuff a rag around it to pressurize the system. If done right, it works well Rock

Farmer Rock's crew cab and 12 valve swap....

The adapter plate came in yesterday evening! I'm hoping to get back into this next week. Between fixing the 5.4 and the clutch job on the loader tractor, I ain't had much time for it I'm looking forward to making progress on it though. Rock

    ZD-29 glow plugs?

Just be sure they are really motor craft plugs. There are a lot of counterfeit parts out there that are no better than autolites . There's a lot of discussion on that. Rock

    Jesus Freak's WMO IP thread

Something tells me that a water injection system won't do much towards overall engine health....:dunno Then again, I ain't no expert Rock

I totally agree on the 3v motors being questionable at best, but I think we're starting to get them mixed up a bit. The 2v ain't all that bad, it's actually a very reliable engine. Only real issue is the plugs blowing out, but it certainly wasn't the only engine with that issue, Same deal with...

    I present the 400,000 mile PSOM/Odometer

I thought they rolled back to 300k when you hit 400k? I know the super duty trucks do that anyway, not sure on obs or e series. Rock

This truck is just shy of 200k miles, sitting at 198k and currently waiting on plugs and coil packs. I started to feel a shudder, felt like the rear diff was gonna let go when accelerating under load, then was pulling out of work, it started popping and banging at an idle in park. If you hit the...

I'm really not worried about it. If something happens to the current engine, I have one in a parts truck that just turned 100k. I don't get why people bad mouth the 2v 5.4, it's really no worse than an LS or hemi. It's no diesel, but ain't bad for a small block. Rock

I got a good deal on a 5.4 SD plain Jane work truck around the corner. I couldn't pass it up, and it fits the bill. It's a good daily driver, and will do the work I need it to until my 99 is going First thing this morning, I replaced those stupid mirrors with the SD towing mirrors. I'm all...

I'm thinking of trying this in my super duty when I get the 12v in it. I ended up getting a gasser for a daily due to the fuel prices, but I'm definitely interested in trying wmo in the Cummins. I was thinking of running it at 50/50 mix, does that sound reasonable? Rock

Almost, you forgot about a hammer, lol. Yeah, it really looks like a good deal for someone wanting a project. I really wouldn't mind under different circumstances. There's only like 3 IDIs within 100 miles beside that. All are late production models. 1 is a zf5, I may check out. It's a factory...

I've seen that on marketplace, it looks like a decent deal. I'm hoping to find something ready to go however, since I'm selling my daily driver now. Otherwise something like that would be great. Rock

    Idi vs super duty

https://aandmfabandperformance.com/products/copy-of-92-97-ford-f-series-bronco-mirror-adapter-plates-for-99-07-chevy-tow-mirrors That's where I got the plates from, and then I just ordered mirrors off eBay. All together it cost 200 I believe. Rock

    Idi vs super duty

When I had my 93, I bought weld in brackets that adapted Chevy tow mirrors while still allowing the wing windows to be used. Rock
