big oil leak into compressor?
^so in the morning when i hit the shrader i hear a hiss and no fuel comes out. only once i turn the lift pump on do i get fuel out the filter head schrader valve. so am i draining back the IP??? i dont understand... but the thing is...when i plug it in...it wills tart just fine!!! all glow...- Greg5OH

fired it last night, runs smoother, no oil leaks so thats good. hot start was very crisp which is a great improvement. but... this morning, 45F outside..same..friggin crap!!! terrible cold start. here is a video of it. glowed for 10 seconds, foot to floor, cold advance on... what..the..heck...- Greg5OH

Advance plunger leak on ip...home reseal?
Mel, I ended up buying the few small pieces froma dude off ebay and installed tonight. Does your kit come with a new piston? I see why mine was leaking, it was all pitted around the seal area! so I had to rob the piston from the pump that came off the engine, you can see it has a bit of wear...- Greg5OH

i was tired and an idiot last nigth tho and forgot compressors are left hand thread, used my dewalt impact to take it off, well..i tightened it about 90 degrees over what it had...so..i stretched something probably...everythgin still spun fine...hopefully i will align everythign per my marks...- Greg5OH

took apart the turbony yesterday, nothing really in there that shows why it could be leaking oil... but took it apart, will clean it all tonight, put new oil control rings in hot and cold side (cold side was also soaked in oil so...definitely leaking...), put it back on tonight, refire and hope...- Greg5OH

i may get flack, but IMO its crazy to drop that kind of money into an IDI. 2k on turbo system sure..as a good turbo is close to 1k alone and can be reused on other engines..but I wouldnt spend that kind of money on machine work etc.. that being said: head studs, oil cooler reseal, (try to...- Greg5OH

foudn a cool pump shop on ebay, talked to him on the phone, sounded very knowledgeable and willing to help, ordered some some injector washers to repalce my buddies I took, the O ring and the seal. I will have the machine shop at work make me a little driver for the seal. Looks very straight...- Greg5OH

Conestoga pump

ill try the clear hose but..seriously doubt air, there is nothing showing in the facet lift pump fuel bowl. Tried all kinds of cleaners through the pump. I have only ready 1 post where the guy said he has tried everything, evertthign was tip top, finally replaced the pump and all his cold...- Greg5OH

Well, it still starts like shit: Injectors are clean and still low mile, compression good glowplugs good. Was in the 70s today and thing still couch before starting. I tried advcanding and seriously retarding the timing, the retarded one seems to start a little faster but its still crap. I know...- Greg5OH

Took the injector to a local shop (they actually had so many DB2 pumps and IDI parts around, very cool!) guy said it popped at 1650 but it was starting to get a little wet few hundred psi below the popping pressure. Said it wasnt dribbling, but was getting wet. which it shouldnt be... ANyway...- Greg5OH

alternate turbo feed line ports?
sweeet, thanks for all the info. Going to take a look tonight see how it is with my pipe routing. Still looks better than the rear block deal I am using..But first...Im going to wipe it all clean back there, spin it for 20 sec or so to get oil pressure verywhere, and take a video of the area...- Greg5OH

alternate turbo feed line ports?
I currently have my turbo being fed off the back of the block..Pretty sure the crushed the brass 1/8 to 1/4 adapter.. im just finding out there is a port by the oil filter on the block I can use to feed the turbo?! took em all apart, cleaned in US for 1.5 hours, the carb cleaned, wire brushed and compressed air blew em all and cleaned.
