    Puking water from dipstick

When you bought the truck was the snail that connects the intake to the turbo etc. on it? Was there any chance the intake was open to the elements? Was the square plug still in the snail? The intake falls right below the cowl. On non turbo trucks if the cowl seal is bad and the air cleaner hold...

    Powermaster 9050 or DB SND0027

The same guy I swear will come down and see to take some more parts off his hands! Most likely post rally at this point if ya don't mind.

    Powermaster 9050 or DB SND0027

Brian swears by PM. I have a DB because honestly for the use my truck sees (or has not seen) I would (trust me, I could and can) not justify the additional hundred. I got the DB off Amazon, no core, free two day delivery. Then I realized my old starter was just held in by a few threads of one...

    New to me deckover (rebuild)

I agree with Wes. You are in this far, shave em down and do it right. Also make sure the crown on the boards is down. Will help prevent any chance of cupping. Not sure if it would really happen due to thickness but ... Just one of them OCD things...

    A great loss.

Thanks Russ. Last week was odd for me because it was a year ago I was in San Jose for work. I was trying to make everything work out so I could be at the GTG but finances, life etc just said to come home on time. As you know I did have dinner with Calvin that Thursday (met you and Ken too)...

    Truck down

Forgot you are on here also! (I really don't consider you part of the NEPA crowd - That is more Brandon and Jonathan, although you are up that way!) As many times as I am over on that side I should just visit ya. I am in Paoli pretty much twice a week. Will be in Warrington Saturday morning for...

    Truck down

I am going to guess you are in eastern PA since I was in Philadelphia yesterday and drove home in that mess. I have not had any dealings with him but on FB in the IDI group there is a guy in Dover, PA that tends to have parts and engines. There is also a couple NEPA guys that tend to have...

    Front Cab Mounts

Careful what you wish for NJ, life happens! When I left MD for south central PA I swore I would never return to MD. I left PA for Cumming, GA and swore I would never go north. Today I live in MD and commute to King of Prussia PA. Back on topic... The only caveat I see with a rally based boob...

e4od and how much to toughen it up?

I can't give you a cost to "make it more durable" but as you mentioned, Woods and BTS are the go to guys. 4k seems about right for BTS. His warranty is "any power, any time". That said, being in my second IDI with the E4OD, clean, cool fluid is the absolute most important thing with them. I do...

    How much straight pipe cost?

Not to hijack... I was in my dd behind a typical local good ole boy one night who was driving an OBS PS (8" exhaust tip, lifted etc) he must have thought I was too close leaving a traffic signal so he floored it. Imagine his surprise when the smoke cleared and I was in the same place behind him...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Westminster. How long ago? Jeremy bought it out from the original owner's son. (Westminster Glass & Mirror and Westminster Auto Glass had the same owner. He died, son did not want the auto side) I am pretty damned pleased at the moment. He said most likely with my surface rust Safelite would...

So what did you do with your truck today?

So last week the wifey called to make an appointment to have the trucks windshield replaced. I guess me procrastinating 27 months was more than she could handle. It had a bulls eye and nice crack since I bought it from Darin. Late last summer the base came loose and I stopped driving the truck...

    1st post. Advice on safely re-starting a 94 7.3

Remove the glow plugs, use the breaker bar. If it will not turn easy, DO NOT force it. You run the chance of rolling a ring. Mix 50/50 Marvel Mystery Oil and AFT. Inject that in each GP hole and let sit. Repeat the process 24 hrs later. Once it turn a complete revolution it will spit out any...

    Aussie headlights for Bricknose 87-91

I am not sure of members. I’m so far behind on where I hoped to be with my truck, but I have been trying to follow this. Money has been reallocated for life’s events over my truck but the wife really likes the looks of these and is not opposed to the additional $$over eBay replacement stock lights.

    Western OIlburners rally 2019

Count me out! The last rally I went to that you (co) hosted my truck dropped a valve on the way home! ;Poke I can vouch that you can host a rally though! Good luck with it.

    Used Banks Kit

Not much help with a Banks removal but... When I installed a factory turbo on my '93 it took 4 of us the better part of a 10 hour day. Bagels, coffee and juice in the morning, pizza for lunch, beers for afterwards. Of course my turbo install required installing 6 gauges and two pods, new...

    Crew Cab Build

My 93 had the closed tensioner and strut. Original motor. I was younger and dumber back then. Never knew why people were so confused about it.

Bought full exhaust and body mounts.

I think the dynomax is the system Banks used as part of their Powerpack system. If so I have had it on two trucks. My dually both na and turbo and now my current truck has it. I don't mind it. The CC after it was turbo'd had a nice sound. Frankly I am too old to care about an exhaust sound now...

    Motor mounts/oil pan gasket

Engine mounts can be done one side at a time in frame. When I dropped a valve, I replaced the piston that was kissed with the engine in frame. That involved pulling the pan. I went from having a truck that never marked it's territory to one that you could follow it's every move. I never got the...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

I use dielectric grease on my terminals. Can get it at any auto parts store or even Home Depot, Lowes. Heck I sometimes use it on light bulbs when installing them in some fixtures.
