I was just going to mention the Buck. Mel and me would meet there on occasion. We have Arcadia VFD near me that (generally) has four derby days a year. I’ll try to find out dates for this year. Would be about a two hour drive for you. There is also Lincoln Speedway up in Hanover and Trailway...
Been driving the truck daily and it seemed to be doing well. Left Home Depot this morning with drywall and my wife. Truck died doing 45 and would not restart. Got it towed to the house and swapped everything over to the Sierra and went about my day. Started troubleshooting tonight and @laserjock...
Organized my tools and put them in the tool box. Placed the ladders on the newly installed HF 800 pound ladder rack. My “new” job starts Monday with a master bath remodel project.
The kits are easy. Drop truck at your house with a 12 pack of Sam Adams Octoberfest!
I know I need to. Sadly with my change of jobs time is precious at the moment. I also lose a work computer and daytime internet!
Went to the pick and pull Saturday. Snagged a new(er) rear view mirror and grabbed the pull handles out of a Mitsubishi Montero. Need to figure out some mounting options to assist the height challenged. Really went to look at running board options. The pics on the web indicated they had a bunch...
Found out @laserjock has gremlins in his garage. Left my truck at his house last Sunday and When I showed up yesterday it had the remaining 4 injectors installed, custom headlight relay, and headlights polished.
Decided to change the oil and that turned into a 4 hour project. Ended up...
Pics as promised. This is also proof that even 6'5'' tall people need a boost to work on these (and this is a 2wd truck!)
The shop foreman was giving advice on line removal.
Carbon build up
Success!
I'll need to post pics, but I did manage to start my truck and get it down to @laserjock for the weekend. (It is nice being able to work in a heated shop with concrete floor).
Things were going at a steady pace until we got to the last injector... Let's just say Mike has a new tool in his tool...
Body and bed don't seem to align either. I need someone (seriously) to help me understand that look / wheel, tire combo on trucks. I honestly don't get it. We have a few brodozers around here. Most are GM.
I (hopefully) will be starting my truck later today. First time in...who knows. Finally got off my a$$ and will be heading to @laserjock house this weekend to replace injectors, returns, heater delete and time it. Since I have known air issue he talked me into making my wallet lighter and we...
John Clougston in Dover, PA seems to find them before any of us know they exist! He rapes them of the low hanging fruit (turbo, hydro boost etc) and scraps the rest (based on my observations of his FB posts)
Not sure if it was done to replace the body mounts or to raise the body but back 15 plus yrs ago (god, has it been that long?) Agmen (Mel) and a few others used hockey pucks. I actually picked up some used ones to use on my dually but never did end up replacing them.
I tend to use online ordering for a lot of crap. Day job has me at a desk and laptop so it is easier. A lot of my mower parts however come from a local Cub dealer. Yes I pay more but I like building the relationship even if it is not in stock and needs to be ordered.
About shipping - Until...
Pretty sure they do Scott. IIRC the bed is 5.5". Erica's Sierra is a double cab. Works good for her. The kids (6' 5" and 5' 9") are not too happy being back there though! Seats are up 90% of the time for lugging crap around, not people. Heck my son drives himself to job site versus sitting back...
To add to the confusion...some manufacturers (GM) have a double cab which is basically an extended cab with forward facing rear doors while retaining the 6.5' bed. I am really not sure if Ford offers this in the 150 line up.
