    pintal plate

I have to hook up the trailer lights and the brake controller. I actually had to move my skid steer today (local) so I did it. I am amazed how the Mack pulled it, and even how it stopped w/o trailer brakes. I am still on the lookout for an air-brake trailer, if anyone knows a good deal on one...

    Clutch Adjustment

the clutch in my IH used to engage really late, or high up by the dash. the shop told me it was normal, I told them to adjust it b/c I didn't like it, but they said the adjusting nut under the truck was frozen?! I think there are two adjustments, one on the firewall and one under on the tranny...

    pintal plate

I had the welder over today and we put a pintal plate on my Mack. I went with 3/4" plate. my IH 4900 had 1/2" plate (already on when I bought it) and I jack-knifed the truck/trailer once with the JD 450 on it and the 1/2" plate bent, not much but it definatly bent. I think the 3/4" will do...

New tires, truck shudders at 35MPH

do you have a big enough air gun to take the wheels off? or use a 3/4" drive breaker bar and a long pipe, and change the tries yourself, just to see if it helps. I think that equal stuff may be causing your problem.

New tires, truck shudders at 35MPH

Duke, I agree that you should put two of the rear tires up front and see if that makes any difference. then at least you can narrow it down a little bit. did they put equal in all the tires or just the 2 they put on the front??

    brakes

you can put an actual Jake Brake on a Mack which is two-stage, or a Dynatard which is Macks own version of the Jake, but it's only single stage. I'm looking for an actual Jake.
