    Auto diesel vs diesel #2?

You buy your mileage up front in 1000km increments..... all light vehicles undergo a comprehensive safety inspection at 6 or 12 monthly intervals depending on the year of manufacture - pre 2000 it's 6 monthly and 2000 or later it's 12 monthly. God help you if you are over your ruc/mileage when...

    Auto diesel vs diesel #2?

Here diesel is not taxed at the pump for any vehicle - rather the govt charges for a distance licence which varies depending on the weight band you fall into. Something like an idi f250 would fall between 3.5 ton and 6 ton so would pay 8.2 cents per Km (under 3.5 ton glw it's 7.6 cents/km) , a...

    Help picking eng. Swap

What about one of these .... 2.5L turbo found in Ford courier/ranger and Mazda Bounty - they only need 1 wire to the ip to run and go very well as long as you don't overheat them Would you get these there as "grey imports"?

2.4 MB 4cyl diesel into a 1989 Ford Ranger supercab

That last pic is of the 3.0 we series ranger engine .... it slipped into a creek and got a gutsfull of water - probably would have been ok if the owner hadn't tried to tow start it !!!!

    Another Interesting IDIT Failure

Had a D4D Hilux 3.0 through the shop a while back that looked like that - it hadn't had the oil changed for 60000km and it looked just like that in the sump.

The wife has murder in her eyes

make sure the intercooler hoses are all tight , check airflow restrictions .... if you can slide a swab down the intake manifold - it's quite common for later model crd to "gum up" the intake as a mixture of oily vapours combined with hot egr will cake themselves onto the manifold .... the best...

2.4 MB 4cyl diesel into a 1989 Ford Ranger supercab

Nice simple basic 1 wire needed to run engine right up until 2006.... as long as you don't cook them they are great. Got one about to be in bits at the moment as the owner cooked it .... i'll post up some pics for you as i put another head on it.

Best economy chip for 7.3 psd ?

Well we got the Hydra Chip . fitted it and what a different truck to drive - can actually clean up a 3.2 ranger until 65mph now!!!!! That took a Brazilian team a long time to get the steering wheel moved over :):) so i think we'll just have to leave it there for now LOL

Best economy chip for 7.3 psd ?

Hi all , My Father has just brought himself an 03 F250 7.3 psd - it has 460km on the clock but has had an $8500 trans rebuild and a new turbo in the last 12 months .It's Brazilian built factory rhd .... he picked it up for 25 k which is a bargain here as that's about the cost of a rhd conversion...

lightweight and smallish diesel for Fox Body Ford

Wes explained it pretty well. I was involved a few years ago with building an LD28 nissan diesel up to run in a jet boat ..... we turboed it, made up a water to air intercooler for it , decompressioned it and replaced the flywheel with a beefed up flexplate. Blew up 3 engines before we got it...

lightweight and smallish diesel for Fox Body Ford

If it was me and i wanted to keep it diesel i'd look at something like this from copart ...... all wiring computers , driveline etc to drop in the fox. https://www.copart.com/lot/54166628 These are the performance specs for it in the e90 series ..... fox is going to weigh less than one of...

lightweight and smallish diesel for Fox Body Ford

Well it will just come down to $$$ really ..... modifying a small diesel to become rev happy will come at a cost and reduced reliability especially if you are going common rail and veggie oil. Dropping a complete engine and trans package will likely give a better cost benefit than modifying...

lightweight and smallish diesel for Fox Body Ford

Why would you want to go for high revs rather than taking advantage of the high compression high torque nature of a diesel? I noticed that you said you made your own fuel ..... if you are running veg or wmo through a hdi engine it'll have to be scrupulously clean, consistent and with the...

lightweight and smallish diesel for Fox Body Ford

If you don't mind computer controls and wiring then look into something like the range rover 3.0 v6 twin turbo diesels ..... 6500 rpm for a diesel is pretty hard to arrive at without spending lots of moolah. The Lion series of engines run from 2.7 hdi V6 up to the 4.4L tdi V8 and would be...
