Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

Truck is a 1990 F350, and my engine side harness appears to have been the victim of MANY hands lacking in clues, lol. On the way to work this morning, I lost power to the fuel solenoid on the injection pump, without an obvious reason why. I've had that connector work itself loose a few times...

What front springs am I supposed to have?

Well I'll be....I've had this truck for years, and I never even noticed that, lol. Unfortunately, a PO laid some overspray during their spray bomb paint job, but I can still make out "T F" under springs...I think...

What front springs am I supposed to have?

I have a 1990 CCLB diesel 4x4, with one of the front springs having a bent main leaf. Not super horrible, but enough that I want to replace it. Problem is that I can't figure out what spring is _supposed_ to be in the front of a diesel truck... Just looking at some place like...

What batteries do you have in your idi?

Just dropped a pair of Walmart Value 65s in my '90 a few days ago. $55/each new. I run the Value batteries in just about everything for starting batteries. If I need more than a starting battery, or something that's going to sit in storage for long periods of time, such as my boat and camper...

    Diesel to gasser

Sheeeeeett...I'd trade my diesel for a big block gas truck today without even thinking about it..if I could find a similar truck. Given that I have a crew cab 5 speed 4x4 dually..that's not likely to happen, lol. Both of my diesels were purchased because they were cheap deals at the time, and...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

It is...it was the absolute cheapest tires I could find, lol. Next cheapest were Carlisles as $225/each, and local places wanted $300+. Just hard to justify for something I use very little, and like RV tires - they'll fall apart from dry rot before I wear them out. Plus, this is really just a...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

$326 delivered for a pair. I spend more than that on a pair of rear tires for the Cadillac, and replace those more than 10 times as often, lol. I'm sure these are China's finest tire, but for tires on an old Ford 8n that I just use to maintain a 1.5 acre desert lot, I'm sure they'll be fine...

Why the draw to factory Alcoa dually wheels?

You've got that backwards...DRW rear is about 5" wider WMS than SRW. Has to be to keep the inside tire in the same position in the wheel well as an SRW axle, otherwise you'd need massive wide inner wheel wells in the pickup beds. If you try to mount a dually wheel facing inward on an SRW...

Why the draw to factory Alcoa dually wheels?

I have a pickup DRW Sterling under there now. It still doesn't look right with SRW wheels, and especially so with DRW wheels on the front axle, and SRW wheels on the back LOL Plus, my flatbed is over 7 feet wide..it's a homebuilt, not a commercially made bed based on standard measurements...

Why the draw to factory Alcoa dually wheels?

Admittedly, part of it for me is the look. Not in the "I want a truck that looks bad-ass!!!" kind of way, but rather that I have a DRW width flatbed on the truck, and it just looks silly with single tires under it. But I also feel like the truck is more stable on duals vs single tires out back...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

Oh no, it's definitely way more movement than would be allowed by bushings, even if the bushings where shot and allowing an inner sleeve to bounce around inside the outer sleeve. But it's also much too smooth of a movement to be trashed bushings. From what I've seen of modern commercially...

    Axle seal guestion

Perhaps he removed a Scotseal and replaced it with a standard seal? I've heard of people referring to Scotseals as a 2 piece, even though they're a unitized construction that goes in as a single assembly. Likewise, I've seen several posts over the years of people replacing a worn Scotseal with...

    DB2 Tuning Guide

Absolutely no clue on pump/injector mileage. Heck, for that matter, no clue on how many miles are on this truck period, given that it has a 5 digit odometer. I did a basic records search on it a while back, at least as far as I could go with the free searches, and it looks like reporting...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

Well aware...I've been playing with turbo cars most of my life. Still didn't leave me any less surprised at just how quiet this truck is, lol.

    DB2 Tuning Guide

Is this the kind of thing that should even be messed with on stock engines? Or in my case, I have a Banks Sidewinder wastegated turbo on what I believe to be an otherwise stock '90 7.3 motor, and stock NA pump/injectors. I didn't put the turbo kit on though, so I don't know if the PO messed...

New to me truck, timing issue...

I picked up a Gunson 77089 a few years ago for mine after the Ferrets became unavailable. It's an adapter box that allows you to use a normal gas engine style timing light on a diesel by way of a clamp that goes over a hard injector line, and a converter box that provides the inductive signal...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

I was actually surprised as just how quiet my truck is now on open exhaust, though it's just a single, dumping right behind the cab. Definitely know it's there, but it's not at all what I'd consider to be loud. Though I think I could likely benefit from having my exhaust shop replace all the...

Why the draw to factory Alcoa dually wheels?

I've seen a number of posts of people trying hard to find the factory Alcoa dually wheels, and curious what the draw to these are...is it just the rarity of aluminum dually wheels? Just liking that particular look? Do they give the ability to run larger/wider tires than the steel wheels...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

Oh wow, glad you posted that picture. I had been thinking about doing a stack type exhaust on my truck as well, trying to get the soot to go skyward instead of on my trailers, but was wondering what it would look like...and trying to find pictures of trucks with "normal" sized exhaust in stack...

    Fan clutch nut size

I did mine without the holder...just got a monster crescent or pipe wrench on it, then smacked the handle a few times with a 5lb sledge. I don't remember exactly what I used, as it was several years ago that I had last had it off, but I know I never had the holder tool for it.

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

True. Which makes it that much harder to really determine just how much is too much, seeing as how I also don't have a good way of actually measuring the movement that I'm seeing either. I was actually considering mounting up my GoPro in the cab, facing the rear, to get some video of what's...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

I feel like it's been the exact opposite for me. This F-350 feels like the tallest factory height truck I've ever had, with my '96 Chevy K2500 4x4 being WAY lower, along with the '05 Ram I had prior though it was a 2WD, and the current '10 Ram 2500 4X4 I use for my work truck. But then I...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

I really didn't think 5,000lbs was asking too much of a truck sold as a heavy duty 3/4 ton....(mine is the 8 lug with 14b full floater rear) Obviously I was a bit faulty in that assumption. cookooI mean hell, my Jeep Grand Cherokee with a damn unibody and small gas V8 had less issues pulling...

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

Mine does have an automatic...and a 5K trailer load damn near brings it to it's knees. I couldn't even begin to imagine loading my camper on it AND pulling the crawler on the trailer, which the Ford does without issue. Sure, I'm in the right lane with the semis doing 10mph on steep grades, but...
