No one is saying all LEDs are bad. Like nelstrom said, OEMs are using purpose built housings, not LED bulbs stuffed into the same housings as they use for halogens. The light emissions from a LED bulb itself is completely different than a halogen or HID (and HID is different than halogen too)...

    Best guess adjusting drum brakes?

They'll adjust automatically over time...but also require the brakes to be somewhat close to proper adjustment to work correctly, as they work off the shoes rotating a bit on the backing plate as they hit the drum. They're really more like automatic slack removers than automatic adjusters...as...

    Unique Modifications

The vast majority of the aftermarket LED replacement bulbs SUCK, and they're not going to work correctly with any housing/reflector designed for halogen bulbs. Even HIDs aren't really that great in a halogen reflector. What many people don't realize is that a bulb, reflector and a lens are a...

Aft-axle fuel tank access on 85

I learned a long time ago when living in the midwest - if you're potentially dealing with rusty fasteners...just buy new ones ahead and time and cut the old ones off before making a real mess for yourself. If you manage to strip out the carriage bolt holes - tack down a carriage bolt washer -...

Oooh...likey, though I'd prefer it without the Superduty part. Are those backlit, or just a lot of reflection in the camera? annnd...just answered my own question, lol - eBay. Just searched up 1990 F150 headlights, and got a bunch of hits that included those pictured on this thread.

I'm aware of those, that's why I specifically asked about "other than aussie kits" LOL

Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

Eh, not that big of a deal to me. Low voltage wiring is part of my career, and dealing with a couple dozen relatively large gauge wires is a heck of a lot easier than sorting through a few hundred 24 gauge wires that all appear to be the same color because our purchasing department cheaped out...

    Unique Modifications

Wait...where are these "other than aussie kit headlights" to be found for the bricks? One of the plastic housings on my brick had recently cracked, and now that headlight is flopping around like a hooter on a 60 year old hooker...

    6.9 & 7.3 IDI Commandment Lists - IDI Do’s and Don’ts

Sure...if you're a masochist. Come down here to Phoenix in the middle of July when it's 115*F outside, and your truck has been baking in the sun for the past 8 hours...the thermometer inside the cab reads 145*...you'll dread just touching the door handle, or the steering wheel. Then go sit in...

    How much is enough fuel?

For whatever it's worth...I have a Banks Sidewinder on my truck, and a rodent chewed boost reference hose on the wastegate. So functionally, the equivalent to being unplugged, lol. If I try, I can get to spike to 14-15psi, but generally it's opening on it's own around 12psi anyways, and under...

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

No worries...it's pretty much all been covered at this point :) I did send you a PM though.

Stumbled onto this video and its for sale

Well, to be fair...I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the book of Faces, especially not the various groups. I can only handle the same question being posted 4 or 5 times a day :backoff:rotflmao

Stumbled onto this video and its for sale

Not to worry...we'll never see IDIs, whether Ford or Chevy, pushing into the pricing stratosphere. You can't plug a tuner into them to roll coal or make believe you've got a 800HP million mile motor, thus they're safe from bro-truck douche canoe drivers that have pushed old diesels up to stupid...

    6.9 & 7.3 IDI Commandment Lists - IDI Do’s and Don’ts

Don't....buy the stupid thing to begin with. God, I wish I would have just held out for a 460 truck...:frustrate Actually, it hasn't been THAT bad since I figured out that I was a dumb-arse that should have just replaced the damn air filter, but it's still been an expensive pain in the back...

Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

You guys are lucky...I always get the ones with a bunch of wires just loosely taped together...most of which go to nothing at all, yet are cleverly hidden inside a bundle of other wires, making it exceptionally difficult to track down where they go, lol.

What front springs am I supposed to have?

Wow...I'm really surprised that a diesel would have shipped with the lightest springs available in the front...perhaps that explains the oddly smooth and comfortable ride of this truck, lol. Of course, these lightest springs also happen to be the most expensive, lol. Given that I'm planning on...

Fixed my high EGT.. feel like a dumb-butt... Check your air filter, lol

Moral of the following long story - don't just assume a part is OK....If it's an air filter, especially the K&N oiled style, just cleaning it with their kit may not actually clean it enough....I wasted two years and $2,000 figuring that out... So I feel like an idiot... Been wrenching on...

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

Well, if I wasn't looking for feedback, I wouldn't have asked before buying, and already whipped out my Visa :D I know Pensacola has a bad rep for the rebuilds, but everyone seemed to be happy with the new Delphis, and I figured Pensacola's ham fisted goons couldn't screw up new in box...

Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

Actually, the locking spades are easy enough to deal with... Plenty of options for that one that will still lock on correctly without resorting to just smashing down on a regular QD terminal to fit tighter. I'm thinking more of things like the fuel pressure/vacuum sensor, fuel heater, and...

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

Nozzles - first hit I got was from DCP, $95 for a set of 8 nozzles. I figured by the time I get the other seals and parts, pop tester, shims, etc, I'd probably be into it for around $300. Or I could order up a set of new Delphis from Pensacola for $280... Doing things myself usually isn't so...

    7.3 IDI Air Con

That's the way I'd do it. My personal policy is that I never get wear, maintenance or rubber items out of a junkyard, unless it's absolutely my only choice (which, yes..duh moment there, lol). This would include things like the AC hard lines that have rubber sections in them. Especially so...

Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

I'm not trying to rewire the whole truck here, lol. I've done several Painless kits already on various vehicles, and even the vehicle specific kits don't include all of the connectors one would need to do the entire vehicle. But even the only vehicle specific stuff they have for a '90 truck is...

Worth the time to rebuild injectors myself for stock level applications?

Recently found a few weeping injectors on my '90 7.3 with Banks turbo...tops are wet where the hard lines screw on. I did the caps/return lines last year. I have absolutely no idea when, or even if, the injectors have ever been changed on this truck. Runs fine, starts without any issue hot or...

Source of NEW engine harnesses or at least connectors?

The Weather-Paks don't account for things like the locking tab connector for the fuel solenoid, fuel heater, filter vacuum sensor, oil pressure and coolant sensors, etc. I also really don't want to have a bunch of spliced on pigtails here if I can avoid it.
