    replacing carrier bearing please help

I cleaned the shaft where it has to slide off first and then lubed it. Then I used an old dull screw driver & one tap at a time every 30 degrees or so around & around the perimeter to get it off. To put the new one on I found a piece of pipe that just fit over the shaft and squared up one end of...

    Building a 6.9 to kill

I guess if you wanted to save a little parasitic HP drain here and there, along with the decking and line boring mentioned before, you could go with custom heads and valves like this... http://www.coatesengine.com/csrv.html

Results are in!!! ....I should have used a filter in there somewhere:frustrate The nozzles clogged shortly after leaving to come home Monday. I see now that I need a pressure relief valve in there somewhere also so I can turn the system off and immediately relieve the backpressure, maybe even an...

How do you name your truck?

Well, I probably thought this one through too much when I did it, but Henry Ford's concept was that a vehicle should be affordable to the masses, dependable, adaptable, strong and utilitarian. Not necessarily pretty... So "Henry" was obviously named in honor of the man himself because I felt he...

Further Adventures of Henry the Hydrogen Ford...

Mel, my grandfather Gus was an engineer on the Seaboard Coast Line in the 1930's, 40's and early 50's. He told my dad at one point that water wasn't anything but "dynamite in a bucket" and then explained to him about steam pressure & expansion. Upon receiving that typical teenager's look that...

@SWS- (1) Those are misting nozzles for greenhouses, I got two @ .012" and two @ .008".I see now after 500 miles that I easily could have gone with three @.018" and not over-injected. (2) I didn't measure the flow rate, I took the manufacturers word for their rating. (3) My activation...

Ummm, ah... Not to be a dork or anything, but either both of you guys are wrong or the info I looked up is wrong- supposedly the expansion factor is 1800%. But no matter, anyway you slice it, that's a lot of expansion. Now please excuse me, I have to go back outside and finish up, just taking a...

Well, Thank you gentlemen, the input was needed and appreciated. Snicklas, thanks for pointing me to that photo of Travis'. That really helped calm my nerves, as I am not pumping ANYTHING like that amount of water.. The nozzles I'm using make a much finer fog and and the three of them together...

@77F250Diesel- And I'm looking forward to meeting you and the others too, Also really interested in seeing how either method of timing is done on these engines... @Icanfixall- Well, in keeping with my natural tendency to follow the K.I.S.S. principle whenever possible, I just drilled three...

Well, in the course of the next two days I will be reinstalling the HHO system with its upgraded hardware and the water/alcohol injection system I just built. I will be busting ass to have everything done in time to leave early Sat. morning for the Florida mini-meet. Oh yeah, and new BB code...

    stack adapter question

Do you have a saber saw (jig saw)? Bosch makes some incredibly good metal cutting blades, the "progressive" blades for "fast cuts in thick or thin metal" are the ones I'm specifically talking about. I use them all the time instead of the torch on stuff that has to be accurate on thicknesses up...

    Florida Insurance F-250

Javier, I don't know if you can get this rate or not, because we got it from Liberty Mutual because we belong to a local credit union but for PIP, Liability and Uninsured Motorist coverage on a two vehicle policy ('95 Accord & '89 F350CC) we pay $1568 annually. L-M has pretty good rates...

    Truck hops while taking off!

I have the same problem- I always figured it was just glazed places on the clutch plate. It's especially bad backing uphill, or doing second gear starts. Basically anytime you have to feather the clutch.

How much of TC-W3 would you add to diesel?

Wish I could take credit for it, but no. I went to the tech library we have here on OB and copy & pasted it. I know that this bit of info really opened my eyes to a few things and I figured it would sorta put things in perspective for you too.

How much of TC-W3 would you add to diesel?

Burtcheca- You might want to read this again, or the first time if you haven't seen it yet- Good stuff- Marvel Mystery Oil ain't even in the top 10. The Research Laboratory mixed the proper ratio of each “bottled fluid” into a separate container containing the baseline fuel. The data...

    Bronco Diesel Swap

Aww, what the hell man.. You oughta just take that that thing to the limit- I was thinking about what Riotwarrior said about the heavy diesel sinking in the mud, and I say since it's gonna be 4x4, just go ahead and make it an 8x8. Yeah seriously, put dual's on the front too, it'll dang sure be...

A Breath of Fresh Air for Henry

@Agnem- I suppose there is a chance of that happening, but I get the impression just from the fit, angle of the alum. tube and side loading of same that it's doubtful they will be moving. The hood has been up four times since the install and they have been well seated each time, that's not to...

A Breath of Fresh Air for Henry

Yes, at about 53-54 you definitely can feel a difference, it's like I gained some extra pedal and/or horsepower. From 55 to 75 it feels like a new engine, amazing... Now to learn to keep my foot out of it.

Thanks man, and yeah, I think Henry does like it... A Breath of Fresh Air for Henry

@Crawler- They are a bit of a pain- I didn't realize the air cleaner (engine?) was offset from the centerline of the truck, it made the one on the passenger side a pure-d beeyotch to make work, but it does. When you close the hood you have to bring it low as you can with you still under there...

A Breath of Fresh Air for Henry

This was on the to-do list anyway, and since I'm gathering the parts and pieces for the water injection system and this had to be done first, I went ahead and did it. The scoops were cheap and available now, I know some will not care for their style, but it's about function anyway and they seem...

    Fuel economy.

Eureka! I've figured it out! See your avatar photo, and all that black unburnt fuel pouring out your tailpipe? See in your signature where it clearly says "pump turned up two flats";Really:rolleyes:;Sweet But, then again like previously mentioned it *could* just be fuel system wear..
